Anyone remember this 1979 movie? It takes place in Southern California in 1998, and the world's supplies of gas, oil, etc. have just run out. Now people walk, bike, and roller-skate to work, and live in their cars. Electricity is still available, but everything is coin-operated. In a desparate rush to save the planet, the president (played by John Ritter) and his staff set up a special TV marathon--hence the name "Americathon 1998--to raise money for the cause. Harvey Keitel and Allan Arbus also star. This film also has bit parts from David Pomeranz, Jay Leno, and Meat Loaf.
