Hi, okay.
The response has been overwhelming to say the least, and it's great, cause the set is real fun to watch!

Let me clarify this set, once and for all...Long story short, there was a mishap in the family household, where one disc was accidentally broken, containing seven (7) episodes, including the Reunion Movie. Not Not to worry, the rest are fine.

I am in the process of trying to get the replacement Disc with the missing eps and movie, so hopefully that will be taken care of in a few weeks, hopefully, since it's overseas, and playing email tag, etc..Will I get it soon? Hopefully, yes, if not, don't shoot the messenger, as am trying all avenues, and will keep trying, and when and/or if I get it, all will be forwarded the disc, and included with the set..

For those still interested in this rare, fun set, "Best of Chips" contact me either via a PM or simply email me, I'll respond to all..., again, thanks and apoloiges for the mishap, hopefully it will soon be whole again. Cheers!

Default GOOD NEWS & UPDATES!

Good News! & More Updates!

I was able to secure confirmation that the disc with the missing episodes and the Reunion Movie, are already enroute to me from Brighton, and should arrive to me by this coming Friday/Saturday, give or take… For those who’ve been in contact with me already for CHIPS Complete, Yes, as soon as I receive the last remaining disc with the episodes and movie, rest assured it will be immediately forwarded to all of you. I will again, post when it does arrive, so there will be no miscommunication of any kind.

*** UPDATES
Of Note - Please be advised that, there will be two (2) missing episodes from the set. So, of the original 139 Episodes of CHIPS in the series, there will now be 137 Episodes of 139 CHIPS Eps available.

Episodes: 306 - Counterfeit
Original Airdate: 20-Oct-1979
Brief Plot: A bogus clergyman prints counterfeit money that circulates to Ponch

223 - The Greatest Adventures of CHiPs
Original Airdate: 12-May-1979
Brief Plot: While Ponch and Jon are off in Sacramento attending a seminar, Grossman starts to collect anecdotes about the team from other officers so that - win or lose - they can give them a party, half testimonial and half toast.
Notes: This two-hour episode was essentially a bunch of highlights from the first two seasons.

The reason I have now learned through several emails and contacts from the U.K., confirmed the following:

COUNTERFEIT
THE GREATEST ADVENTURES OF CHIPS

Both of these 2 titles above were never released on tv in the U.K. on BRAVO, due to tv rights, and other legalities, i.e. they never secured the rights, and were never aired, period. So, no one in the U.K., has ever seen these episodes to begin with. When they aired several years ago, these two episodes at the time, were skipped. That is why there are only 137 Episodes available in the entire set. Still it is the most extensive set available and around. No one has these two (2) episodes, in the U.K., as they never aired. If anyone wants to tackle and research the two (2) missing episodes, be my guest, but good luck, since you probably won’t have any luck until the series is ever or eventually released commercially. But if you do, give me a holler, and hook me up. So what you get, is what I got, and what is only available ;-)

In Summary: What is available to all CHIPS fans is this:
CHIPS - COMPLETE, All Seasons S1-S6, 137 Aired Episodes, of 139 Total, PAL Format, 19 DVDs, Full Menues, Chronological Broadcast Order, Commercial Free, Quality 9/10
I will again, post here when I actually secure the remaining episodes and reunion movie in my hands, to let everyone know of its arrival., and that everything is in good, working order, with no surprises. I just wanted to assure everyone that I was and am, on top of this, and not have to email everyone one, but make one, general announcement, for all to read.

Thanks again, for all your emails and inquiries, and everyone, everyone, will be followed through…And to those whome I've been in contact with, things are wrapping up splendidly, so this week, will be the "magic" week for CHIPS! Just check your mail boxes shortly! Lastly, any one wanting more information, or interested in CHIPS, simply send me an Email or PM, I will respond to all. Cheers to all!

don't know who your source is in the uk, but you are actually wrong about the episode counterfeit not airing, as it have aired.

counterfeit aired on the 27th & 28th march 2006, it just didn't air in the order as it was done by the chips site.

The Greatest Adventures of CHiPs i can not 100% confirm as digiguide havn't got the past update for that, if i check 2 weeks before i can confirm that or not.

Not to hijack your thread, but for anyone else who is interested in a better set i am actually just starting to do a direct to dvd set. I miss recording the first 3 seasons due to other projects.

But I have started to record it from season 4 and will have both season 4+5 done in 2 months time. It will even be 2 or 3 episodes per a dvd, all episodes a perfect 9.5/10 taking from Sky+.

depending if bravo will repeat season 1-3, i should have the set done by october. For those interested this is just to let you guys know i am working on a set if you don't get trades from beavis or you want the best quality set possible.

Beavis i mean no dis respect but if your set is on 19 dvd's, 7 episodes a dvd , its a 45 min show and its 139 episodes. how on earth can it be 9/10 quality?

Default Re: Chips

Hi, Curtis, thank you for your comments and postings, and I welcome them. First, let me explain to you so you fully understand....

This set was acquired a few weeks ago, and it was what was available to me and was offered to me from a very reliable and reputable source from the U.K., so I accepted it on word of my source. I took the gamble, and it paid off and was very very pleasantly surprised. I am very happy with it. That is all that matters. The quality, is as stated, 9/10, with a few, if any, 8.5/10, but overall 9/10, easily. Now, each person has their own views on quality, that is fine, and understand that. No problem. If they see it is 8.5/10, to each his own...I stand by what was given to me.

If you do have, or found the episodes Counterfiet, and The Adventures of Chips, I congratulate you on your acquiring these or getting the correct information on these two episodes. I am not here to argue with you, nor to correct you. If you have these two episodes, or have found them, or are getting them, that is fabulous! By all means get the correct info out there, then they do exist afterall ...remember this set was done quite some time ago, before the air dates you posted here.....so go figure. Thank you for getting the correct information out there, since this was what was explained to me. I welcome your new found information

If you do have or making a better set, again, that is wonderful, and I sincerely applaud all your efforts and work and effort into making the best chips set, soon to be available in 5-7 months for all to see...That is great! I'm sure it will be nice once you complete it. My set, THIS SET, is alreay complete, as stated, exlcuding the 2 missing episodes, complete and finished. And I would certainly be truthful to say, if the quality was crappy, or shaky, or a "7", or 7.5", etc, I would say so, ...so I have no need to exaggerate the quality issues for this fine set. I acquired the set as it was told to me, being a solid 9/10, when I received it, and that is how I am passig it around...I fully agreed with it, and was very happy with it... enough said...and was amazed and floored by it, and stand by it, 9/10.

The others who have already acquired this fine set from me, have also agreed and are enjoying thes set as we speak. So, I can assure anyone here, there are NO quality issues with this set, so, your comments that your set, or soon to be completed in two (2) months set, set is better by 9.5 over 9.0 is vague, ambigous and irrelevant to me, since you have not seen my set, and if yours is or will be better, fine. You could put 2-4 Eps per disc, and that is fine. I'm just happy to have received this already, and for me, and others who have already and continuing to enjoy them, have no problems, none with quality or # of episodes per disc.

Even if you had or made a set that was a perfect 10/10, quality again, more power to you, and that's fantastic! If it is a 45-50 minute show, that is not my problem. That was the way the network aired them and were recorded from, and passed along...again, to get CHIPS in and of itself, is fine with me. All were recorded exactly the way it aired, and that's what we have. Further I did not record these episodes. I simply acquired them, and am now sharing them for all who want them.

I have no intention of going back and forth on this topic. None. I will only come back here when I get the disc with missing episodes to post here. My original post and descriptions and updates and comments, stand. Anyone wanting information, or further clarification, can contact me directly via Email or PM... By all means if you want to advertise your soon to be completed in two (2) months set, wait for mine, mine's a 9.5/10, not the 9/10 set, set, mine is better than yours, etc, etc, good. I'm sure you will get some fine offers for it.

Conclusion, I am very thrilled and happy, to have after 3 decades, finally get to watch and enjoy this fine, rare show, that is never played here in the U.S. to have this is a treat in iteself. When I got it, I thought of nothing but to sharing it with all of you here. I get my first chance to acquire the set, which is very good, let alone, hard to find, and most of us here in the U.S., were happy to get any episodes of this great show, let alone, me finding a gold mine of 137 Eps of 139, to me, is a blessing and a great find. So I'm just here to share it with everyone and anyone here. Folks know me and my reputation here, so I have no reason do exaggerate or misinform anyone here on my lsitings or postings. If you find or have a better set, go for it! Mine is not the only set, and down the road, there will be many more better ones, then there will be in NTSC format, some with 2 Eps per disck, others with 4 Eps per disc, then eventually the Retails sets will be rady and out there, in Fall of 2007, to coincide with the 2007 Movie Release of CHIPS...so there will always be a differnt set of CHIPS out there, eventually, each claiming to "better than yours" set... I'm not saying mine is better or not, I have CHIPS, and it's available and complete, as I have it and acquired it. Pure and Simple. Done. Finito. I have a set, and it is avialble NOW, for all to see and enjoy...when yours comes out in 5-7 months, then you can share yours with others as well... And by all means, when your set is all complete, and you offer the two (2) missing episodes that I do not have, that is fantastic, Curtis! I wish you good luck with your hard work and efforts in making the best chips set available...

This matter is now concluded for me, and again, I will address any further information, trades, via PM or email, and not clutter this forum with my set is better than your set stuff, and I have this and you don't have that stuff....

Cheers everyone!

To clear a few things up as you did not read my thread right. first off i said season 4&5 will be done in 2 months. the complete set itself will be done in october (8 months).

thats if they re air season 1-3 and the episode the adventures of chips. which i can't confirm if that aired or not. i did not make a post to say mine is better then yours.

it was a simple post to offer the set if they couldn't get the set from you or wanted a direct to dvd set. the offer is their if people was interested. if not then thats fine. just a general post and thats it.

after that i ask a question about your set, yet you haven't answered it. no i havn't got the set which is why i am asking. any trader around here will ask, but some might be afraid to.

i am very direct and if i see something wrong i will confront the trader about it. personally i see the rating for the set is wrong, unless the set creator is a major whizz and can do magic.

what don't make sense is the fact its 7 episodes per a dvd which for that show is 5 hours 15 minutes is rated as a 9/10 set.

It is a simple question in regards to the set, you said if you have any questions then ask. so i am asking the question, but all you gave me is a debate about it and no answers

whats the source is it vhs, vcd, downloads, capture card, done with a dvd recorder if so what mode e.t.c. provie screenshots of the menu, the quality of the set both as unalterted bmp.

personally i just like to see a bit of prove the rating is correct or near correct. true everybody rates their sets different, but it was a simple question yet you debated it.

i am not questioning your reptuation and i mean no offence. i am simply asking more about the set itself, which any trader would do. most probably i will trade for the set just to see what it is like as i do with many sets.

but i always ask more questions in regards to the quality before i do get the set, and thats what i am asking. if the set is truly a 9/10 set then at least provide that info for me so i can see for myself.

you have repeatly said its 9/10, praiseing the set and everything. but you provided no more info then that, normally i beileve some traders ratings for some sets i have got.

but its the set you have got, that raise alot of questions which i am some other traders here are also wondering. all i am asking is for you to provide more info about the set.

maybe some of the members who got the set from you ask the same questions, maybe not. so why not answer them instead of being annoyned at me for asking a very simple question.

i just see a flaw in the set, and just like to see proove it is the quality you say it is or near it. if overall its a 8/10 or 8.5/10 perhaps i will believe that, but overall a 9/10 i do not believe.

again i meant no offence and its not a hijack that my set would be better then yours thread. that was a general info for anyone interested, if they are happy with your set then thats fine.

i was providing the info for anyone who might be interested and to give those who enjoy the show and can't trade with you a 2nd chance at another set.

that was that, after that i ask a question about the set you got to see if its truly the quality you say it is and if its worth trading for it.

I've watched episodes of other shows recorded from a digital source with many hours on the disc and they look fantastic.

I've built and have seen dvds with as much as 3 hours of digital video source (cable or satellite), but never 5+ hours and rating it 9/10.

Curtis

you did step out of line when you jumped in his thread announcing you would have a better set in six months from now.

THIS IS WAY WAY WAY !! OUT OF LINE.

Beavis might be a nice guy and won't come out and say it but what you just did is wrong.

Also, who's too say your ranking of an 8 or 8.5 or 9 is better than his? The numbers are subjective.

Forget the number of hours on a dvd (but 7 shows at 45 minutes is 3 hrs and 45 mins with commercials removed)
like T-Greg said,
a show can still look very good if it's a direct capture off digital feed onto disc.

Joker

absolutely correct

the very day you get your set ready

many people will droll over a copy of it

correct his detail about the two eps, yes by all means

advertise yours that may or may not come up for months, sorry thats just not cool

never promise what you dont have for sure

i have had numerous shows crap out a couple eps short, and then what

i dont know the beavis

i have a group on the way from the beavis dude

its my first contact

honestly, i would be happy if it turned out to be a solid 8 of 10

but there can be no estimate , without seeing it

i run a 60 inch philips high def set in my living room

it takes a lot of good info to display a quality picture

i have several sets that are at 4 hour speed that i call a 9 of 10

and im a tough grader, there have been many references to that her

5 hours and 15 minutes is a bit more, and yes it seems a stretch

ill reserve comment until i see it

the hawaii 5-0 29 disc set is over 7 hours on a disc, and thats in the 8.5 average on quality

As i said before i was letting people know i am working on a set, that is not out of line. its an offer for those who don't get a chance to trade for beavis set.

how is letting people know that their is another set being worked on being out of line. i even said "not to hijack his thread", i made a small post and thats it.

i am giving those traders a 2nd chance in getting the set if they can't get it from anybody else.

trading is not a competion so why limit this show or any other show to 1 set. i could stay hush about it and just not make the set itself, perhaps make the set and keep it for myself.

i could of made a new topic about the set, but again i will be attack like you guys are doing now if i made the post and the fact i don't make posts like that on any forum as its a work in progress.

i was letting people know that i was working on a set if they was interested in a higher quality set. maybe that is out of line for you, but it was an offer for those who was interested.

some trader might not get the set because of the quality, beavis might not see anything of interest from their list whatever the reason may be. i was just sharing a bit of info for those who wants a 2nd chance and then i ask about the set he has got.

it was a general gesture to let people know a new set was in the works. i never falsy advertise any sets i make or make posts about sets i make unless i am 100% sure.

but the thread has nothing to do that, and it was not meant to hijack the thread itself. i never made it to be like that, its you guys who are trying to make it out i did.

it was an offer for anyone interested, if not then thats fine. but the main of the thread itself was about the 19 dvd set, that is what i am discussing that is the info i am trying to find out.

mine was a bit extra info for those interested, nothing less and nothing more. if you want to make me out as the bad guy then go ahead, personally i don't care if you beat me up about wanting to help my fellow traders.

i personally don't like this show, but i am making a set as another trader wanted a set made. i use the sources i have and make a set, i have sky+ and is able to make direct to dvd sets.

so why can't i abuse that postive and makes sets for other traders who may not see a higher quality set ofthe show again or see a retail set for it in a long time.

we get alot of shows here in the UK and i offer other traders that chance to obtain a better set if i can record it for them. I make a 2 paragraph sentence in regards to that and point out a mistake about a episode airing and then ask what i wanted to ask about the set.

yet i seem to be out of line for giving people a 2nd chance, a chance to help them watch a show they love.

Its a 2nd opptunity for those interested, if they were interested they could e-mail or pm me and ask or check my site or i could update in a couple months time if they decide to air season 1-3.

which i did say they may not air it again, if you guys read my thread before jumping on me.

that is what the thread was about, nothing more nothing less.

1- correct info about the episode airing
2- offer a 2nd chance to those interested
3- quence my curioisty about the quality of this 19 dvd set, as to me it does not sound like a 9/10 set.

Ninjastriker. I think the appropriate thing to do is wait until you have the set, then post a message about it. You know what they say about counting chickens? For instance, your recorder may break, your satellite dish may act up, the network may not air a certain episode, etc. These are things you have no control over. Besides that, assuming you do get every show, who is going to remember 2 or 3 months from now to get certain seasons, or 8 months from now to get the whole set? See my point?
