Default Love Monkey coming to VH1

I loved this show, and was bitterly disappointed when it was cancelled by CBS. But VH1 has bought all eight of the episodes made, and will start with a "marathon" of the three episodes aired on CBS on April 11 (7 p.m. EST), with the five unaired episodes starting weekly the following week on April 18 at 9 p.m. EST. This is a must-record for me! :>

Geeze, I hope it's not a joke. I read about it on Futon Critic.com.

CBS aired 3 episodes, but all of the episodes are supposed to air on VH1. Now, it someone would pick up the entire series of Book of Daniel, I'd be content ... for about 10 minutes, 'cos there's always something new I want! :>

"Love Monkey" wasn't a bad show, and I was disappointed that CBS dropped it so quickly. I look forward to seeing the unaired eps on VH1

NBC tried to put up Book of Daniel for a webcast but it must
have not gotten enough hits so they only did up to episode 7.

The rest of the produced episodes have never surfaced.
So I just had to finalize 2 discs with the 7 episodes and then
maybe they will appear on Australian TV or something.

Glad to hear that VH1 picked up the Show. The first episode was
a little rough but the next 2 started to grow on me. So I'll
be interested in seeing the rest of them. It doesn't look like
it's an overly expensive show to produce (other than maybe
music rights) so maybe they might just go ahead and pick up
the series *shrugs*

Default Reliability of Deb Walsh's info?

Didn't Deb Walsh assure everyone that Voyage To the Bottom Of the Sea wouldn't show up on commercial DVD because Irwin Allen's widow was holding out for way too much money for the rights? And didn't Deb Walsh lecture us on how The Time Tunnel would never appear on factory DVDs because of poor sales of Lost In Space?

On the NBC web site for Book of Daniel, there's a photo and text thing on the missing episode - episode 4, I think it was. They skipped over it on NBC, which made no sense, and when they put the episodes up on the site, they ran the episodes that followed the last aired episode. So the episode that hasn't been seen at this point isn't the last episode, but an earlier episode.

Anyone know what else Jack Kenny, the creator of Book of Daniel, has done?

Thanks, Deb, for the heads up on this. I DID get the 3 eps of Love Monkey that were aired, so I'll be sure to try to snag the 5 unaired ones!

I'll be glad to see the unaired episodes too! I thought this show was really well-done and had a lot of potential. But it won't be the first time that happened...

Too bad VH1 isn't in HD.

Actually, since the show was filmed in New York, I would imagine that it was pretty expensive to produce.
They probably could have saved mega bucks by filming on some back lot in Hollywood, but that would have taken away from the New York vibe the show had. As a New Yorker, I loved that they filmed the show here. There were many great locations featured.

That's True TJL. But then lots of shows anymore are being shot
in New York proper, or at least background shots etc.

VH1 really hasn't had a lot of luck with they're shows other than
reality shows. So I have my doubts they will pick it up.

"LOVE MONKEY"

VH1 Saves The 'Monkey' On Tuesday, April 11 By Airing The First Three
Episodes of "Love Monkey" From 7PM to 10PM

Five More Episodes, Never Before Seen, Will Premiere Exclusively On VH1
Every Tuesday Night At 9PM Beginning April 18th

Santa Monica, CA, April 5, 2006 - The people spoke and VH1 listened...
"Love Monkey" has found a new home on VH1. The hour long dramedy from
CBS starring Tom Cavanagh will begin airing on VH1 starting Tuesday,
April 11 with three back to back episodes beginning at 7PM*. The five
remaining, never before seen episodes will premiere every Tuesday at
9PM* beginning April 18.

In this scripted series, Tom Cavanagh plays "Tom Farrell," a
30-something record executive navigating a career, romance and the
surprises of everyday life. He finds himself burdened by the pressures
of working in a highly commercialized industry when he's actually, truly
in it for the music. Tom's group of close friends are always there to
back him up and keep him grounded. Judy Greer plays the role of "Bran,"
Tom's best girlfriend who always tells it like it is, Jason Priestley
plays his buddy "Mike" who happens to be married to Tom's pregnant
sister "Karen" played by Katherine LaNasa and Larenz Tate is Tom's tough
and quick-witted friend, "Shooter." Christopher Wiehl plays Tom's
closeted gay best friend "Jake" who is a former baseball player turned
sportscaster and Ivana Milicevic is "Julia," Tom's unflappable co-worker
and love interest.

Young rising star and songwriting prodigy Teddy Geiger plays a regular
role as "Wayne," an up and coming artist signed to Tom's record label.
Music performances and guest appearances include James Blunt, LeAnn
Rimes, Natasha Bedingfield, Ben Folds, Aimee Mann, the "Late Show with
David Letterman's" Paul Shaffer and more.

"'Love Monkey' has found a perfect home at VH1," said Tom Calderone,
Executive Vice President and General Manager, VH1. "The storyline is
tailor made for the VH1 audience who enjoys stories and appreciates
music from up-and-coming artists that are featured in the series, many
of whom were introduced on VH1, including Teddy Geiger."

For more on "Love Monkey," viewers can go online to www.vh1.com.

"Love Monkey" is produced by Bayahibe films, Ltd. / Thirtyfour Films,
Inc. and CBS Paramount Network Television in association with Sony
Pictures Television.

Sigh. This is a must-record for me, but Tuesdays at 9 are so jam-packed with Veronica Mars moving back there next week, and House already in the time slot ...

Thanks, Pavan, for posting the press release - I was beginning to wonder if maybe Futon Critic had played an early April Fool's joke ... :>

The other night a girl I know mentioned how much she loved Love Monkey. When I told her VH1 was picking up the show, she was shocked.

She works for VH1.
