Default Should Credit Card Company Tell you why they.......

Approved you for a Card like they tell you why they rejected you? I was recently approved for an American Express Card and was very surprised because my credit was bad for 7 years. So I guess bad credit does Clear after 7 years-lol But I would just really like to know why I was approved. Is it easy to get an American Express Card which by the way has no Credit Limit?-lol

Usually you get a credit card when you have made a major purchase like a car, home, etc. or you get a school loan, or some other kind of loan. I have received cards like that ONLY AFTER having done the above referenced things.

Is it true abt credit being clear? I mean, I keep hearing that, but I don't know that it's true. I had bad credit, but the credit card company assumes if you can purchase a car and have a loan on that, or a school loan, then you are good for the $$$ or they assume (dumbasses) that you will not faulter on loans.

Yep after 7 years your credit is cleared. Also when you have bad credit you can still get a credit card the only thing is you have to make a deposit.

But yeah I think that they should send you a letter telling you why you were approved lol.

I didn't have to make a deposit. I wonder does it have something to do with me being employed full tim for the past 7 years and at the same APT paying rent on time for the past 6 years.

No I'm saying, Even a person with bad credit can get a credit card and if they wanted a credit card they had to make a deposit. I wasn't saying you in particular

Getting a credit card is easy, I have 3. Paying them off is the hard part.

Solomon, words of advice. Don't mess with American Express. They are crooks. I dealt with them. When you make purchases, they don't charge a monthy fee, they want all of their money with the bill arrives. I was giving them a little each month, and the bill got even higher the next month. You can get the card, but I wouldn't make purchases on it. You will be sorry. I went credit card crazy, it was my fault, but to make a long story short, I filed for bankrupty last year.

I think American Express is mainly for responsible Working people who will only charge something they know they can pay back in full. America Express is defintely not for college kids. But I am responsible working man who has learned how to use a credit card and I know I won't ever charge anything that I know I can't pay back in full in the same month

Then why would you use a credit card if you'll pay for the item in full anyway lol.

Yep, that's the whole reason I even have a credit card, so I will establish good credit. I don't use my credit card a whole lot but when I do it's on stuff I know I will be able to pay off in full when the bill comes.

Right, that' how a credit card should be used. Not to go on a shopping spree-lol If I was to ever get laid off I would put the credit card in a box and put a lock on it because I damm sure wouldn't use it-lol
