It was like he was a totally different person. Dee and Shirley were treating him with respect and he wasn't acting silly, he basically was acting like he Real Life AGE in that episode-lol It wasn't the typical rerun.

he was supposed to be mature...his age at this point in the show must have already been 24 or 25. Which is why seeing him go beserk in the money episode was soooooo stupid.

That was really the problem with season 3, they all matured too much. It became less funny that way.

Exactly. Remember that post of mine where I was calculating Rerun's age. He is by now in season 3 at least 24, Raj is hitting 21 and Dwayne is 18. I knew alot of guys in high school who behaved like dorks and so forth.

That's true. I watched this episode last night and hardly laughed once. It might have been the least funny episode of the whole series.

I agree. I have all three seasons on DVD but watch the first and second season the most because they were alot funnier.

It's simple deduction and taking facts from different episodes.

In the Doobies episode, the guy from the band said he and Rerun attended school together. So I checked out Pat's date of birth and Fred's real birthdate. I calculated from the fact that Rerun said numerous times he flunked senior year three times. On the average, one is 18 when they are ready to graduate. So add three years to that: 21. So you figure each year of the series is another year to rerun's age: 24. Raj then graduated and you figure 18 there. Dwayne, was still in high school and it's assuming he is a senior by the third season, so you figure a late 17 or early 18.

But I agree with the original theory concerning his maturity in the page position w/ABC. It definitely wasn't the same Rerun that we'd known over the previous two seasons!

Now, the real question is...did the writers plan it out this way in the beginning? I mean, ok from the beginning it was said that rerun got his name because he had to "rerun" everything in summer school.
But as far as Raj and Dwayne. In the first season, I assumed (back in the days) that they were the same age. By the time the guys get their own apt., Dwayne is still in high school. So, we have three guys that are different ages. How was it they became friends? I mean, usually in high school you hung around people your own age or in the same grade as yourself.

He was perfectly cozy with HS life, obviously (especially when it came toward the end of Season 2)...

Otherwise, you're right: it would've been three good friends who were the same age and shared the same grade/class all the way through.

I guess the writers were just doing what sitcoms writer do best: going with the flow. and forget abt what they initially started out with. We, the audience, didn't matter...it was abt what was good for the moment. Especially since alot of times back in the days, alot of fans didn't get the chance to speak up like they can now. You have internet, emails, etc. Back then, the fans had snail mail, and who would bother with telling the shows how they were doing?

Anyhow, you're right about all of the above: The writers were making do with what came to them at the time, and then they worked from that point.
Still though, it's kinda interesting to see how uniquely things turned out as far as those three main characters were concerned, huh?
