Found this out on the message board about Cartoons and they said that Astro had his own show. I learn something new everyday-lol I think it was in 1981.

That's true. ASTRO AND THE SPACE MUTTS premiered on NBC in 1981. I
haven't seen it, but it is mentioned in William Hanna's biography, "A CAST OF FRIENDS" (1996). |

from what I have read about it, it wasn't a full half hour series. It sounds like it was just a segment of the show Space Stars. I don't know how long the segments were but they made 11 episodes of it.
