Florida tells Wanda-"I hope james gets that promotion because it's a wonderful three bedroom apartment on the 9th Floor"-lol Why the hell would a family who is living in the projects be interested in moving into another Apt in the same Building? The goal would be to MOVE out the projects not WITHIN the projects-lol I know Black Groups were angered by that dumb statement-lol

because James would need to save money so they could get a decent apt. elsewhere. They would need first and last months rent and most likely a security deposit. There is no way they would have that money to move out of the projects. So their natural instinct would be to move into a bigger apt. within the same building until they can save money (since James would be making more money) to get out.

I still feel you save to get a BIGGER place OUTSIDE the projects instead of in the projects. So if james had gotten the promotion, that measn they would have been in the projects a lot longer-lol.
