Did the Dwayne character have to be so dumb in season 3? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Dwayne just blurting out stupid things for no reason, dwayne wanting to quit school to sell peanuts, and just being the one in the gang that everyone made fun of. Even rerun would make fun of dwayne and occassionally say-"dwayne, Dwayne, Dwayne." Dwayne's stupidity was what all the other characters talked about instead of rerun's weight during season 3-lol. Another example of his dumbness was when Shirley was looking for another job and dwayne says-"Here is a job for shirley, an engineering job with vacation and a great health plan" raj looked like he wanted to slap the sh*t out of dwayne when he said that-lol

Dwayne WAS quite dense in most significant aspects, now...
Just like back in Season 1, Episode 2, "The Birthday Present"...
When Raj wanted to tell him & Rerun about the kind of present he wanted to get for Mama's birthday, Dwayne blurted out (without thinking, of course) that Raj should get Mama "a really nice Frisbee".

OMFG. What are friends for, eh. That really plucked my nerves...
