Did anyone watch this 1993 Comedy that was also cancelled after one season? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

It was called "Getting By" which premired on NBC in fall of 1993 and the cast members were

Bud from the Cosby Show-"Deon Richmond

Romeo from Steve Harvey Show-"Merlin Santana

Cindy Williams

Telma Hopkins

I watched it recently and it was a watchable show I think. On the same level as Family Matters and Step by Step.

I sure watched a lot of TV in 1993. I seem to remember all these shows.

Cindy Williams and Thelma Hopkins were friends who lived in a house together with their kids. I thought it was a really cute show.

I remember a show called "True Colors" about a black man who married a white woman. I believe she had a girl and a boy and he had two boys. I know it didn't last very long.

It lasted a longer than the shows we been discusing-lol True Colors lasted 2 seasons, 90-92

It doesn't seem like it lasted 2 seasons, I think they moved it around a lot or I just stop watching it.

I think that's all of the good shows that I can't think of that didn't last.

I though "Getting By" was a pretty good show and was dissapointed when it was cancelled. I did however catch reruns of it a couple years ago on AmericanLife TV. They aired Getting By reruns every Saturday night for about a year. I wished I had taped some of them.
