Question The longest time you've ever held a job...and the shortest?

I was at a job for over six years. I liked it, but quit five years ago. I got tired of the corporate environment.

The shortest job stint was two days. I was tending bar part-time, and it was a horror show. Too much heavy lifting...cases of beer, ice, you name it. I just called my boss and told him I wasn't coming back, lol.

* Longest job: It's my current fulltime job, and tomorrow will be my sixth anniversary. It's also the ONLY fulltime job I have ever had. Wow! Time sure flies by!

* Shortest job: My predecessor part-time workstudy job from the above. I worked from mid-August 1999 to late March 2000. Then, I applied for the fulltime job above and am still there.

My longest job is the one I currently have.

My shortest had to be when I was hired at a movie theater. The day I was hired my new boss started shouting about things he expects to be done etc, etc. So I decided not to even show up for my first day of actual work.

shortest: two weeks. worked for a lawyer (man) and i got tired of hearing him bad-mouth the previous paralegal he had; he called her the "B" word, kept telling me all this negative stuff abt her; it really got annoying. The day I told him I couldn't stand it anymore was the day I quit. He was pissed. I know that the next lady he hired he surely must have started bad-mouthing me.

longest: being a paralegal for ten years.

longest real job: BEING A MOM

Longest: 1 month shy of 2 years. I quit because I couldn't work out a college schedule that worked with the work sked.

Shortest: 1 month. I was babysitting a girl every afternoon after school. Then her mom sort of got laid off, so I did too. I was thrilled...I couldn't stand that little girl anymore. She was such a spoiled little brat. Her mom called me a few months later and asked if I wanted my job back...but I had gotten my current one, so I had to decline (yay!!).

Longest: My current one. I've been working on swimming pools pretty much since '98, though it's very seasonal work.

Shortest: About 2 months. I was a sales rep. for Cutco (technically I still am an inactive employee, but I haven't done jack squat since the end of '04)

My longest job is my current one. It was 5 years in Feb.

My shortest job was 3 months when I was 16. I worked part time during the summer at my mom's job, and I quit when school started.

What kind of job was that? Did you quit or get fired?

Well I've only had one job in my life, and I need to find another one. Anyway so I guess the longest was 3 years. I guess that's not bad for a high schooler/College kid.

I was tired of dressing up everyday and tired of the 50 minute commute each way. Tired of meetings, the stupid birthday parties, the memos, the stress, the phony executives who thought they were great. I felt like I was in prison. I could go on all day.

I LOVE it, although people call me a workaholic
