This may have already been mentioned, but one of the writers of MAUDE (Susan Harris) was the creator of SOAP, GOLDEN GIRLS, NURSES, EMPTY NEST, BENSON and many others. I wonder if she got her start writing on MAUDE? In fact, she wrote one of the more controversial eps where Maude gets an abortion in 1973. Just something I noticed the other day while watching the end of a few episodes-lol

I did not know that. That episode of Maude (the one with the abortion) was the best episode of the entire series. IMO

It was very good. 2 other episodes that were great almost from start to finish were "Florida's Goodbye" and "Walter's 50th Birthday".

I did. I would see her name all the time and wonder where does this lady get all her ideas from? she is obviously a great writer. I wonder why we never heard much abt her writing skills and ability.
