Default college schedules

oh my god. I need to rant...and I thought I'd bring up a wonderful topic...college schedules. so anyone who is or has been in college knows exactly what I'm talking about....conflicting classes/gen eds/prerequisites/etc It literally takes me days to pick my classes for the following semester, (or summer classes in this case) I don't even bother going to my advisor anymore, since they know less than I do...but yeah, anyone else know the pain of class scheduling? I can't wait till I graduate, which will be in approx. never

I feel for ya. I start the new quarter next week and I'm avoiding picking out my new schedule. I'll probably do it last minute (even more last minute that it is right now) because I suck.

I pretty much hate college, and scheduling is one of the worst things.

Thank god I'm not the only one who is about ready to pull out their hair over trying to make their schedule right in general...never mind trying to keep it open enough to still work 30 hrs a week...oy vey.

Ew, you have it even rougher than me. I'm not working now. I want to next year though, while I'm in school.

Been there, done that. Except they made us go to our advisors to get a pin number to be able to register. It was basically as waste of time for me, because I already knew what I needed to take from reading the catalog.

It was always annoying to have classes conflict...or to get stuck with an 8am or a late class. Or have to run clear across campus in 10 minutes.

I never really had a problem with scheduling. I do hate however when a pre-req is only offered at one time during the day and a month later the class is canceled due to low enrollment. Plus, those classes are too difficult to take during a 5 week summer session. That really sets many students back. How do they expect us to graduate in 4 years?

For the most part my schedule has looked like this:

MON-THURSDAY
8-9:30 [MON/WED ONLY]
9:35-11
11-12:35

Not bad... I work Thurs, Fri, San and Sunday 2-10. Lately though I have been working less hours because my classes are more demanding this semester.

One semester I tried going to school only Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-12:35. After taking a lunch break, I went back from 2-10 PM. That way I had longer weekends, but the schedule was so hecting and almost of my homework was due at the same time. Don't ever do that.

So I am trying to switch to the school of management, and my academic advisor said because I was in good academic standing, there was no reason why I could not...well there is one reason she failed to mention that you must have taken calculus in the past, which I have not, so hopefully I can take it over the summer, but if I can't, hopefully I will be able to take the management classes regardless of being in the school because they have a big core and it would be hard to catch up starting second semester...oh well thats my situation and so I have to make up two possible schedules because I dont know what classes I can take...ah
