I'd be very grateful if someone could tell me what went on in the following HotC episodes= The one where Dennis goes on some sort of talk show, when the class wrecks each other's science projects, when Dennis becomes a school journalist and when Arvid gets a job at a nightclub. If anyone can tell me anything about these episodes, that would make me happy. Don't be afraid to go into detail! Thanks!

Seriously, I was browsing through the old threads because I haven't seen much action with the more recent ones. I do know about the nightclub ep. Arvid's bike was stolen (again!) and he needed a job to make money to replace it. He didn't want to do a job he was used to (tutoring) so Charlie suggested he work at a club "Zirkon," where he had connections. Arvid likes it at first (he had a menial job there, I don't remember what exactly...emptying ash trays?), and eventually becomes snobby about it, since he gets to be around "those in the know." When he tells the class to come telling them to say they know him to get in, little Janice is like "Oh my gosh! What am I going to wear?" and Arvid cockily answers, "Pajamas, kid! You ain't goin'!" He also ribs on the class, saying that they need to be cooler to fit in at the club. He tells Jaws not to talk with an accent, and ribs on Dennis' "unclassy" clothes. This causes friction between him and Dennis. Everyone else goes to the club one night (Charlie and Bernadette go out together, as well), and Dennis doesn't show up. Arvid thinks that Dennis is standing him up. Dennis is actually coming late, and doesn't use Arvid's game. He tells the bouncer he's "John Candy" and does a goofy laugh. He snuck past the bouncer (don't remember how), and confronts the "new" Arvid. The rest of the class, looking so out of place, listens in. In the end, Arvid quits the job, because he didn't like becoming the kind of person that would snub a person like the real Arvid, and also hated that people would treat Dennis like that. |

The one where Dennis goes on the talk show - One of the classmates is chosen to go on an esteemed William F. Buckley type show like Firing Line. Dennis gets to go and the class is worried he will play jokes and make a mockery of the IHP. There is a dream-type sequence where Dennis goes on and does that. In the end though, I think either he behaves, or he decides not to go. The class worried for nothing.
The one where Dennis becomes a journalist. Do you mean the one where he does the article on Mr Moore? In that one, he goes to Mr Moore's place pretending that he can't go home because his parents are fighting again. This is an excuse though so he can get Mr Moore to answer some personal questions about his life. In the end, Dennis finds the answers too boring so he fudges them and makes it look like Mr Moore's life has been scandalous. He also makes it appear that Mr Moore has said bad things about all the students in the class by twisting his words. When Mr Moore finds out, he gives Dennis a really big lecture and makes him confess why he does stuff like that. Mostly because of insecurity and stuff. |

I'm glad Nick at Nite has run the episode where Arvid works at a nightclub so I have had a chance to see it. I hope they run those other two episodes (Dennis goes on a talk show, Dennis misquotes Mr. Moore) because they sound really great and deal with my favorite subject--Dennis!
