Time Spent Online - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

The internet is a great place to come online and meet many different and interesting people. However, I think many people who come online become so used to talking to their online "friends" that they more or less make chat rooms their homes. This very thing happened to me late last year.

I spent hours at a time each night in chat rooms and message boards and even thought I thought I was having a good time, I soon realized that I no longer had a life offline. I was no longer going out out to see friends. I was spening all my free time online. I soon became pretty depressed about the whole thing, because spending hours at a time talking to people each and every night online is not having a life. As so as I got off line and got out in the world again, I felt much better about myself and my life.

Is it always fun to come online and talk to people, but don't you think there is a point where a lot of people are spending too much time online and have given up having a real life?

You know, friends, going to movies, going to concerts, going out to dinner. I know that you are getting married soon, so I would take that as very much "offline".

I think I do a good job having a life on and off line. I may do both, but I know I am on here way to much still. I do a lot of research and homework online and not just TV stuff too.

Still too much unfortunately. It's definately not that I don't have an offline line, but it's just that online I can discuss certain things with others I can't do offline.

I'm like that too. I have an offline life, but I feel better talking to my online friens about certain things that I wouldn't talk about to my offline friends.
I do spend a lot of time online, but I do a lot of job searching and online classes.

i used to be on CONSTANTLY. but i have better things to do now. i'm just on when i do the ass load of homework i have every night

I know I spend waaay too much time online, but I have more friends online than off and I never go anywhere anyway
