Default Shows that start early or run past the hour?

So ABC still feels that it is necessary to pull this stunt where they start Lost early, and then run it past the end of the hour to make it so you'll watch whatever is on before and after it just so you dont miss anything... what do you think of this?

It once AGAIN screwed up my recording shows on other channels on my DVR (think like Tivo), and of course it wont record Freddie because, it wont let you record shows "overlapping" on the same channel

so I'm left with the choice of deciding which shows to STOP watching/recording - i figure I'll just give up on Lost and buy the 2nd season DVD when it comes out and save myself the frustration now.

is that the reason why they do that? so you can watch the next show? I never knew why they do that...i figured they were just trying to get some extra minutes into the show and didn't want to edit out.

Yep Irene. That's why they do it.....NBC started that actually. ER starts at 9:59, LOL. And Desperate Housewives goes from 9:00-10:01. It is stupid though. Like is one minute really gonna keep us interested in a show???

that is stupid because of the fact that some people record off their TiVos or other sources. Is it because when one records that way, the ratings don't reflect that?

Tivo had an update recently, where it can now handle shows that are slightly shorter or longer ... watch shows live? YUCK ...

My Tivo seems to always cut out the last couple of minutes of Lost for some reason...I hate it because it's always when the drama goes down! I haven't figured out how to fix this, but I did find out that ABC is putting Lost episodes on the Internet for free starting May 1...so if I miss somehting, I can now go back and watch it again, whcih is a GREAT help. Esp with this weird show!
