True Love (My First JJ Fan Fiction)
This starts about a week after the episode Mate For Each Other Chapter 1 When that stupid computer fixed Jack and Janet up for a date, Jack finally realized it. As they kissed, he knew for sure. And when she said that the date wasn't a real "date" it had broken his heart. He had finally figured it out. what took him so long, he didn't know. But she didn't love him. that was the only problem. Jack loved Janet, but she didn't love him. It was a week later, and he had just gotten home from work. Terri was watching TV. "Hi Terri!" he said, trying to sound happy, but he hadn't been happy since he found out Janet didn't love him. "Oh, hi Jack!" she said, looking around at him. "Have a good day?" she asked suspiciously. Terri knew something was up. It was obvios, but Jack kept trying to hide it. "Yeah, why?" he asked as he sat down next to her. "Well, you've been rather depressed for a week now and I, well, what's up Jack?" she finally asked. "Nothing!" he snapped as he got up and headed towards his room. "Oh, great. She noticed something!" he thought. "My God!" thought Terri. She stood up and went after Jack, determined to find out what was up. "Go away!" he yelled at her as he slammed the door in her face. "Come on Jack!" she yelled pounding on his door. "Jack Tripper! Open up or i'll break down this door!" she threatened. "Terri!" he said opening up the door. "What?" she asked. "Leave me alone!" he said, slamming the door again. "Damn it Jack! Get out here NOW!" she yelled as she resumed pounding on his door. "NO! Go away!" he yelled from the other side. After five more minutes of yelling at Jack and pounding on his door, Terri finally gave up. As she sat back down, Janet walked in. "Hi, Terri!" Janet said cheerfully. "Oh, hi, Janet," Terri said glumly. "Hey! What's wrong with you?" Janet asked, walking over to the couch. "Oh, it's Jack. Something's up and he won't tell me," she answered, throwing a dirty look towards Jack's door. "Hey, maybe I can find out," Janet suggested. "I doubt it. I was pounding on his door and yelling at him for five minutes, but he just ignored me! but i guess it's worth a try," Terri said, turning her attention to Janet. "OK," Janet said as she walked over to Jack's door. "Hey! Jack, it's me, Janet! Open up!" she called softly knocking on his door. Jack opened up the door and said, "what do you want?" "Well, Terri says something's wrong and I," but she stopped abrubtly at the look on Jack's face. "Terri! Why'd you go tell Janet something's wrong! Nothing's wrong, and, even if it was, it's none of your business! What does it take to get through to you?" he yelled furiously. "Come on! She was just trying to help, and so was I! Janet said as she stepped back. "Well, she didn't help! And i'm not mad at you. It's her fault!" Jack said a little quieter as he went back into his room and shut the door. "What did i tell you, Janet?" Terri asked. "Yeah, you were right! Something really is wrong! He's really mad now!" she answered. "Maybe he'll come around later," Terri said distantly. She was deep in thought. "Yeah?" Janet said, looking at Terri. "Don't you think it's odd that Jack's not mad at you?" Terri asked, grinning. Janet thought for a second, then said, "Yeah, what are you getting at?" "He likes you!" Terri exclaimed. "Well, he lives with me, so he better like me!" Janet said. "Oh, come on! that's not what i mean! i mean he has a crush on you!" Terri said, laughing. "Jack? Have a crush on me? Never!" Janet said laughing. "Then what do you call it?" Terri asked. "A, uh, a crush, i guess," Janet answered. I feel so foolish I never noticed You'd act so nervous Could you be fallin' for me? "But then why is he so upset?" Janet asked. "Well, he started acting like this after that stupid computer date, so i'd say he started crushing on you then," Terri said matter of fact lik. Janet thought for a second, then said, "But that doesn't explain why he's so upset!" "Did you say anything that might upset him?" Terri asked. "No, i don't think-wait! I said I enjoyed our date very much, but it wasn't like a real "date" or anything!" Janet said excitedly. "That must be it!" Terri exclaimed. "Yeah! Just to make sure, though, we have to get him to confess!" Janet said. "Let me handle that. He's more likely to confess to me than to you," Terri said. Later that night, after Janet had gone to bed, Jack and Terri were sitting on hte couch, watching TV. "Hey, Jack?' Terri began. "Don't start up with that stupid what's wrong crap again!" he snapped. "No, i'm not! I'd just like to ask you something," she quickly answered. "Ok, whatever," he said, not really paying attention. "Do you have a crush on Janet?" Terri asked solemnly. "What?" Jack said. "You heard me!" Terri exclaimed. "Do I have a crush on Janet? Come on, Terri!" he said. "Well, do you?" she asked again. "Come on, Jack! YOu can tell me! i won't tell Janet, promise!" Terri quickly added. She was going to keep her promise, too. Earlier, her and Janet had devised a plan. Janet wasn't actually going to bed. She was going to listen at the door, instead. "Well, yeah, i do, actually," Jack whispered. "What?" Terri asked. She had heard him, but knew Janet hadn't. "Yes," Jack repeated, a little louder. "Speak up, Jack!" Terri exclaimed. "For God's sake, Terri! YES! i do have a crush on Janet! but it doesn't matter! She doesn't have feelings for me!" Jack finally yelled. "Ok, well, good night!" Terri said as she went into her room. Jack looked at her with raised eyebrows. "Did you hear?" Terri asked. "Yeah, yeah i heard," Janet said. Terri noticed she was deep in thought. It took a rumour To make me wonder Now I'm convinced That I'm fallin' under "What is it?" Terri asked. "Well, I just, I don't know!" Janet exclaimed. "You don't have a crush on Jack, do you?" Terri asked, smirking. "No, I well," Janet said. "Oh, come on!" Terri pleaded. "Yeah, I guess i do. Ironic, isn't it?" Janet said, grinning. Both girls started laughing. However, this was no laughing matter to Jack. He had been listening outside their door, and when he heard that Janet did like him, he almost shouted out in joy. But he was much too scared to say anything. Song credits: Something To Talk About. Please reply. Should i continue or not? |

Ok, here's chapter two! enjoy it! it's a little longer than the first chapter, by the way!
Chapter 2 For a couple weeks, life was normal between the roommates-almost. There was always extra tension whenever Jack and Janet were around each other. Neither would say anything. And it was annoying the hell out of Terri. Finally, she decided to talk to Jack. "Jack, uh, Janet heard you that night when you-" Terri started. "Wait. Terri, i know she heard me. I listened at the door when you went to bed," Jack confessed. "Well, why don't you say anything!?" Terri demanded. "i'm too nervous," Jack said quietly. "You guys could have a great thing going! But you have to hurry up and make your move! she's been talking a lot about a new worker down at the flower shop, so, if you really like her, you'll say something! I know she really likes you, so what would it hurt?" Terri asked. She had made up the flower shop guy in hopes of persuading Jack to tell Janet his true feelings. I'm scared So afraid to show I care Will she think me weak If I tremble when I speak Oooh-what if There's another one she's thinking of Maybe she's in love I'd feel like fool Life can be so cruel I don't know what to do I've been there With my heart out in my hand But what you must understand You can't let the chance To love her pass you by Should I Tell her Tell her that the sun and moon Rise in her eyes Reach out to her And whisper Tender words so soft and sweet Hold her close to feel her heart beat Love will be the gift you give yourself Touch her With the gentleness you feel inside Your love can't be denied The truth will set you free You'll have what's meant to be All in time you'll see I love her Of that much I can be sure I don't think I could endure If I let her walk away When i have so much to say I'll Tell her Tell her that the sun and moon Rise in her eyes Reach out to her And whisper Tender words so soft and sweet Hold her close to feel her heart beat "Well, Ok. Tonight," Jack said, finally. "Promise?" Terri asked, "Promise," he replied, smiling. "Thank God!" she thought. Late that night, the three roommates were sitting on the couch watching TV. "Well, I'm going to bed now, guys!" Terri said, standing up and yawning. "Night, Ter," Janet said as Jack looked up at her nervously. She grinned as him and winked. However, he shook his head, signaling her to wait. "No! Go ahead!" she mouthed at him. "Wait!" he mouthed back. "No!" she mouthed as she walked into her room and shut the door. "Well, i guess it's just you and me," Jack started. "Yeah, well," Janet said nervously. "Uh, Janet?" Jack said. "Yes?" she asked. "Remember that day I yelled at Terri a couple weeks ago?" he asked. "Yeah," she said, getting more nervous by the second. "Well, i know you heard the conversation i had with Terri after you went bed," he confessed. "Oh?" she said, "and how do you know this?" "Because," he began, "I heard the conversation you two had when Terri went to bed." "You what?" she asked in shock. "I heard that conversation," he restated. "i know you like me, Janet," he said. "What took you so long to say something?" she asked. "I don't know," he said, shrugging. He leaned his head close to hers. "Well, I'm glad you finally did," she said as she leaned in to meet his kiss. Now that we know it Let's really show it, Darlin' When the two broke away, they just looked into each other's eyes. The undeniable passion they had both felt in that kiss was unlike anything they'd ever experienced before. It was intense, yet soft and gentle. Jack gently caressed Janet's cheek. "I love you," he whispered. "Not as much as i love you," Janet replied as their lips met once more in a burst of passion. Slowly, Jack let his tongue enter Janet's parted lips and his hands explore her petite body. Slowly, Janet wrapped her arms around Jack's neck and ran her fingers threw his shoulder length sandy blonde hair. Slowly, the intensity grew. Without breaking the kiss, Jack began to lay Janet on the couch. She looked into his eyes and he knew she wasn't ready yet. They slowly pulled away and positioned it so they were lying side by side on the couch, facing the TV. Turning their attention back to the TV, Jack flipped to a movie channel. It was near one o'clock when the movie finally ended. Both of them had fallen asleep and were entangled in each other's arms when the ending credits began to roll. Terri came out of the bedroom to get a drink when she saw them. Terri smiled as she laid eyes on her two friends. The happy couple looked so sweet, curled up there! Sighing, Terri turned off the TV. Jack, who was a light sleeper, noticed the slight change in the room's lighting, and opened his eyes. When he saw Janet's sleeping form beside him, he smiled. Then he looked around at Terri. She grinned at him. Yawning, Jack started to get up, but his arm was in such a position that he couldn't move it without waking Janet. When Terri came out of the kitchen, he motioned to her to come over there. he then pointed to his arm. "Help me," he mouthed. Terri started giggling. "Shh!" he mouthed again, pointing to Janet's sleeping form. Janet the woke up. "What?" she asked groggily. "Nothing. Did i wake you?" Jack asked. "Oh, no, sweetheart," Janet replied, sitting up. Jack quickly pulled his arm back. "Hi, Terri!" Janet said as she finally noticed her other roommate. "Bought time you two woke up! It's one o'clock!" Terri said, laughing. "Is it that late?" Janet asked. "Yes! Now, i'm giving you two a choice-either go to bed in your own rooms, or the both of you go to bed in Jack's room!" Terri joked. "Terri!" Janet said in shock. "Well, you have a choice!" Terri reminded her. "I like the second one, personally!" Jack said. "Jack!" Janet said as she turned to look at him. "Just joking! But she's right. We should go to bed now. Unless you want to stay up the rest of the night?" he asked. "Yeah, Janet!" Terri added. "Shut up you two!" Janet said, laughing. "Oh, come on Janet!" Jack said as he pulled her towards him. "Hey!" Janet said, laughing as he started tickling her. "Terri! Help me!" she cried. Terri quickly came to her friend's defense by grabbing a pillow and smacking Jack with it. That distracted him enough for Janet to get a pillow and smack him with it, too. "Ow! Hey! Stop it!" Jack said as the girls pummeled him with their pillows. He leapt up and started running towards his room. The girls ran after him. As he ducked into his room, he grabbed Janet and pulled her with him. "Hey!" she said, diving towards the door. Terri opened the door at that second and knocked Janet back into Jack. He lost his balance, and tried to regain it by grabbing Janet around her waist. But he still fell backwards, and dragged Janet on top of him. Terri was laughing at her roommates as she offered a hand to help Janet up. Then Jack lunged forward and pulled Janet to the floor again. "Hey!" she said as he started tickling her again. Terri tried to come to her roommates defense, but Jack pushed her back. "Help!" Janet cried again as Jack continued tickling her. By now, she had tears of laughter rolling down her cheeks. Laughing, Jack finally stopped tickling her. Terri had sunk to her knees laughing at her two roommates. "What you laughing at?" Jack managed to ask. "You two! You guys are so funny, rolling all over the place and tickling each other!" Terri said. "He's tickling me!" Janet pointed out when her laughter started to slow down. "Whatever!" Terri laughed, sitting up. They all sat up on the floor in Jack's room, laughing. "I'm going to kill you!" Janet said to Jack. "I was just having a little fun!" Jack said, smirking. "Whatever!" Janet laughed as she grabbed his pillow and threw it at him. "Hey!" he said, backing up. Then he lunged at Janet and resumed tickling her. "Terri! Help!" Janet said as she started laughing again. Terri then grabbed Jack's pillow and hit him. When the pillow hit him, he stopped tickling Janet just long enough for her to get out of the danger zone. After they had many stopped laughing, they stood up. "Well, I'm going back to bed, you two," Terri said. "Night!" Jack said as Terri left him and Janet alone in his room. "Just you and me again," he commented. "Yeah," Janet said softly. In a second, he swept her up in his arms in another passionate kiss. When they finally pulled apart, Janet said, "Good night, Sweetie," and left the room. "Good night!" Jack called after her Song Credits: Tell Him( I changed the lyrics to fit the situation) and Something To Talk About. Please review! I don't have any idea when i'll be able to post the next chapter, but i'll try to get it up by next Tuesday! Thanks!

I'm sorry it's been so long, but i had to write a stupid report over spring break, which was supposed to be my writing time
But i'm finally finished, so here's Chapter 3! Chapter 3 The next morning, Janet woke up to the smell of Jack's cooking. She pulled on her bathrobe over the old jersey she wore for pajamas and went into the kitchen. "Hi, Honey," Jack said as she came in. "Hey," Janet said, walking up beside him and kissing his cheek. "What's cooking?" she asked. "Nothing special. Just Eggs Benedict," Jack replied, grinning. "Jack! you know that's my favorite!" Janet exclaimed happily. "Oh, it is? you never told me that!" Jack teased as he set the food on the table. Janet just rolled her eyes. "My dear," Jack said as he pulled Janet's chair out for her. "Why, thank you Jack," she said as she sat down. "Your welcome, darling," Jack said as he, too, sat down. They began to eat. "Jack, this is the best breakfast you ever made!" Janet said in delight. "Thank you, Janet. Anything for you," Jack replied. He, however wasn't paying much attention to the food. Jack was watching Janet, and just realizing how perfect she was. Jack had never realized Janet was so beautiful. Of course, he had always known she was beautiful, but he had never realized just how beautiful she really was. She had always been his roommate and best friend, but now she was more. She was the love of his life and she was perfect. Jack couldn't find a single flaw. In fact, he'd never been able to find a single flaw with Janet. And he still hadn't realized how perfect she was until now. "God, how could it have taken me so long to realize that Janet is the only woman for me?" he thought. Janet looked up and caught Jack staring at her. "Is something wrong?" she asked. "No, sweetheart. i was just realizing how perfect you really are!" Jack replied. "And i'm just beginning to find out how perfect you are," Janet said, grinning. "I love you, Janet," Jack said. "Not as much as I love you," Janet said. "Wanna bet?" Jack asked, grinning. The two just smiled at each other. Just then, Terri came in. "Morning," she said, and then she noticed how her roommates were looking at each other. "I'll see you guys later," Terri said, turning around. "Oh, hi, Terri," Jack said when he saw her. "Where are you going?" he asked. "Uh, i have to get ready to go to the hospital," Terri said. "You told us you didn't have to leave until this afternoon!" Jack pointed out. "Well, it turns out i have to leave this morning," Terri answered, wanting to leave her best friends to themselves. "Come on, Terri! Have some food first!" Jack begged. Terri looked questioningly at Janet. "Yeah, Terri! you can't leave without eating breakfast!" Janet said, grinning. The look on Janet's face told her it was ok, so Terri decided to stay after all. Terri sat down and said, "ok, i'll eat. what are we having?" "Eggs Benedict," Jack replied. "Ooh, yay! You always make great Eggs Benedict, Jack!" Terri said as she grabbed her plate and started eating. "Thanks, Terri." Jack said. About ten minutes later, Jack and Janet finished. Jack got up and put their plates in the sink. "That was delicious," Janet complimented. "Yeah," Terri agreed. A second later, Terri was also finished, and handed her plate to Jack. "Well, i'd better get going," Terri said, standing up. "Me too. i have some paper work i need to get started on at the flower shop," Janet said. "Janet, do you have to?" Jack asked sadly. "Yes, Honey," Janet said, standing up. "What am i supposed to do all day?" Jack asked. "You'll think of something," Terri said. Janet nodded, walked over to him and kissed his cheek. "I'll see you when I get home," Janet said. "Oh, ok then," Jack replied. Thirty minutes later, the girls were ready for work. "Good-bye, Jack," Janet said when she was at the door. He walked over to her and said, "Good-bye, Honey! I'll miss you terribly!" "I'll miss you, too. But i'll get home from work as soon as possible, promise!" Janet said. "Well, I guess I can wait for a while," Jack said. They kissed quickly before Janet left. "I have to go, too, Jack," Terri said. "See ya later," he replied. "Bye," she said as she, too, left. Jack now had the apartment all to himself. After the girls left, Jack got ready, too. He had some shopping he had to do that day. When he was finally ready, someone knocked on the door. Jack answered and found Larry standing there. "Hey, Jacko! I can get you a date with Greedy Gretchen tomorrow night!" Larry said excitedly. "Thanks Larry, but no thanks," Jack said. "Jack, I'll be right back. I need to clean out my ears 'cause I thought you just said no to Greedy Gretchen!" Larry said. "Larry! I did just say no!" Jack said. "What?" Larry asked. "I found a girl who's perfect for me, and I'm not interested in anyone else anymore," Jack said, grinning. "Huh?" Larry said stupidly. "Come in and sit down so i can explain it to you," Jack said. "Ok," Larry said as he entered the apartment. Once they were both seated on the couch, Jack began. "Larry, I'm in love!" he said. "Yeah, so?" Larry asked. "I'm in love! This girl is the only thing in the world to me. No one else matters anymore," Jack explained. "Oh!Tell me about her!" Larry said. "Well, her name is Janet Wood and I think that's all you need to know!" Jack replied, grinning. "Janet? You love Janet?" Larry asked. "Yes, I love Janet," Jack said. "When?" Larry asked. "That night we had the computer date was when it all started. The girls suspected something, and tricked me into admitting my feelings to Terri with Janet listening. Then i spied on them and found out Janet felt the same way. But I didn't have the guts to say anything until last night when Terri begged me. So, now, Janet and I are a couple!" Jack said excitedly. "Wow. You and Janet? Well, I can't say I didn't expect it. You two were always really close," Larry said. "What? You suspected this would happen?" Jack asked in shock. "Yes. We all did. Mr. Furley and Mr. Roper included," Larry said. "And no one ever said anything?" Jack asked. "Nope, guess not," Larry answered. Just then, Mr. Furley walked through the door. “Jack and Janet?” he asked. “What?” both Jack and Larry said. “I heard you guys!” Mr. Furley explained. “You were eavesdropping?” Jack asked, worriedly. “Yes! And I think it’s wonderful, like Larry said I would!” Mr. Furley exclaimed happily. “You do?” Jack asked. He was in shock. First, Larry says he suspected the Jack and Janet thing, and then Furley finds out and says it’s wonderful? Jack could only stare open mouthed at Furley. “What did I tell you, Jacko?” Larry said. “Well, I’d better be going,” Larry then said getting up. “See ya, Lar,” Jack said, snapping out of his state of shock and standing up also. “Bye,” Larry said, exiting the apartment. “You really don’t care that me and Janet are together, Mr. Furley?” Jack asked. “Nope! Like I said, it’s great!” Mr. Furley replied. “And you’ll let us keep living here?” Jack asked. “Yes! That is, if you pay the rent on time!” Mr. Furley said. “What?” Jack said. “The rent is a week over due!” Mr. Furley replied. “Uh, you see, we don’t exactly have all the rent right now,” Jack explained. “Oh, I see. Well, how much do you have?” Mr. Furley asked. “About two hundred fifty dollars,” Jack replied. “Fifty dollars short?” Mr. Furley said. “Oh well. Give me what you have now and have the rest in two days!” Mr. Furley then said. “Ok!” Jack said as he went to get the rent. “Here you go,” Jack said, handing Mr. Furley the money. “Thank you, Jack. Good-bye now,” Mr. Furley said. “Your welcome, and good-bye!” Jack said as Mr. Furley left. About an hour and a half later, Jack got back home with the groceries. He went into the kitchen and set the bags down on the table. As he started to put things away, the phone rang. Jack went back into the living room and answered. It was Mr. Angelino. “Tripper! I want to see you at work tonight!” he said. “But it’s my night off!” Jack protested. “Tonight, Tripper!” Mr. Angelino bellowed and hung up. “Great,” Jack said as he, too, hung up. Jack continued to put the groceries away, and started thinking about Janet. He had been hoping to be able to spend the evening with Janet. But Mr. Angelino was strict, and would fire him if he didn’t show up. Then they’d never be able to pay the rent! Maybe he could call in sick, but the chances that Mr. Angelino would believe him were slim. “What about Felipe?” Jack asked himself. That might work, since Felipe would do anything to be chef. Quickly, Jack went back into the living room and picked up the phone. He dialed Felipe’s number. After four rings, a woman picked up. “Hello?” the woman said. “Hello, is Felipe there?” Jack asked. “No, I’m sorry. He’s sick with the flu,” the woman answered. “Oh. Well, tell him Jack said hi, and hopes he’s better soon,” Jack said. “I will. Bye-bye,” the woman said. “Bye,” Jack then said and hung up. “Shoot!” Jack said. Now he was stuck. Sighing, Jack went back into the kitchen and finished putting the groceries away. When Janet and Terri got home around six, Jack was putting dinner on the table. He wouldn’t have time to eat with them. Already, he was late. Mr. Angelino usually wanted him there around six fifteen to start preparing the food, and it took about twenty minutes by bus. “Hello, girls!” Jack said when they came into the kitchen. “Hi! What are we having?” Terri asked. “You guys are having lamb chops,” Jack replied as he finished putting the food on the table. “I have to go to work,” he then said grimly. “But it’s your night off!” Janet exclaimed. “Mr. Angelino called and said he wanted me to come in tonight. And Felipe’s sick, so he can’t cover,” Jack explained. “I’m sorry, Honey,” he added kissing Janet’s cheek. “Come home as soon as possible!” Janet said. “I will!” Jack promised as he left the apartment. At seven o’clock that night, Terri decided to watch some TV. She turned on the TV and was flipping channels when something caught her eye. “Now, right after this commercial, we will have Steve with some information on the man hit by a car earlier tonight. The man, Jack Tripper,” a woman said. “Janet!” Terri called. Janet came out of the kitchen where she had been washing the dishes. “What?” she asked. “Jack!” Terri said and pointed to the TV. “Mr. Tripper is at Wilshire Memorial Hospital, where we will speak to Steve live on location, right after this!” the woman said and switched to commercial. The girls just stared at the TV in horror. I don't know when i'll have Chapter 4, but it shouldn't be too long! And I always appreciate reviews! |
