Question audience inconsistencies

ok... FOR EXAMPLE.

in the episode where that jerk bobbie is in the flower shop. in the TV versions there is a lot of audience clapping when janet takes her job back from mr. compton. there isn't a reaction on the DVDs.

also...in the episode where terri dates the bartender janet wants. in the beginning when jack is showing janet what to do in order to get a date...on TV there is all this out of place laughter after he says my name is janet *laughter* wood. in the DVDs this laughter is absent.

does anyone know why this is???

Sounds to me like they tinkered with and/or removed the laugh track. Or maybe it was some sound processing anomaly that occured when they were transferring the original tapes to digital.

Default audience/sound effects and different studio in seasons 7 and 8....

I also noticed something in the 6th season episode "Eyewitness Blues".
When Janet lets go of the undercover officer(after she finds out he has a wife)and his head hits the floor, you can hear the sound of it hitting the floor in the syndicated episode.
On the DVD,you don't hear it hit the floor.
In season 7,TC moved from CBS Television City to the now defunct Metromedia Square(torn down in 2003) and I noticed some differences in sound and picture quality. With the move, seasons 7 and 8 had softer lighting and canned laughter was mixed in with the live audience laughter.
It will be interesting to see the different picture quality on the S7 and 8 DVDs.

I also noticed in "Stranger's in the Night" (I believe that's the epi name) when Larry is playing the guitar and he breaks into a Spanish fast tempo, it's not him playing! He starts "playing" like 2 seconds after the music starts! This probably has nothing to do with the audience but I just thought I would mention it.

I've noticed this too.... In "janet wigs out" when she leaves the beagle after tell Larry, "goodbye to this wig and hello to Janet," on TV the audience claps and it goes to the commercial... but on the DVD is cuts back to jack, or cindy..i cant remeber.... So i find several of those too....its weird!

They place applause there because it would seem weird to go to break without it. Seeing that was not the original point of break, they obviously just placed it there because it would seem awkward without it.

I think Chris Mann's book said that laugh tracks were never used on "Three's Company," although they were used for some episodes of "Three's a Crowd" (a telling sign that TAC would be one season and done)...

I heard the cop's head hitting the floor on my copy of the DVD. I saw the episode last night. It was sorta like a thump when he hit the floor.
