How would Larry Hagman do as Jock Ewing in the movie - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

whats everyones take if larry hagman was to portray jock in the movie? Is he about the same age now as jim davis was when he played him?

I would rather they not make the movie because it will not be good. To think of J.LO, Jessica Simpson, Bill Murray even being considered really irks me. This will be more of a comedy than a drama. It will be mocking the movie. Anyone remember Dukes of Hazzard? Or any of the other tv shows made into movies? The only good one was the Brady Bunch movies. The only reason those worked is because Brady Bunch was not taken serious as a movie...it was making fun of it.

I really don't think anyone can play Jock as good as Jim Davis...even Larry Hagman just as I think nobody but Larry could ever play JR as good.

Yeah, I heard they were considering John Travolta to play JR. He's a good actor, but, I can't see it and Paris Hilton to play Lucy??? Come on!

Larry Hagman as Jock Ewing: I like the idea of having the main character of the show being in the movie, but, I can't really see him play anybody but J.R.

The title "Dallas" and the character names will be the only thing it will have in common with the tv show, just like the Dukes of Hazzard movie. If you had taken out the General Lee and character names in the Dukes movie, it would have had nothing in common with the tv show, and the plot would have seemed even worse.
