How did the show end.....?

I watched the show for a while but forgot about it. How did it end? Thanks!

First of all, Topanga_Fan...You have great taste! I love Topanga (Danielle Fishel) to death!

Okay, anyway...

The show didn't have a "real" series finale because it was cancelled after four seasons, but here's the dilly-filly:

Richard finds out that Julia, his ex-wife, gave birth to his son and he wants to go to Italy to take care of his child. However, that would mean that he and Caroline would have to get married there.

But when Caroline learns that Richard does not want anymore children, they decide to break up and Richard moves to Italy.

Six months later, Richard has grown very attatched to his son - but learns that Carolkine is about to marry a guy she knew in Peshtigo.

Richard then flies back to New York to see the wedding and after Caroline walks down the aisle, a baby cry makes everyone look upwards toward the balcony where Richard is standing.

Caroline turns around and stares at him with an expression that shows that she still has feelings for him and Richard waves at her. The church is silent as Caroline continues staring at him. Then Caroline's mother goes up to her and whispers into her ear, "Honey...you're quickest way out is right over there," pointing at an exit.

Caroline was at the alter, getting married to Randy, when she hears the cry of a baby. She turns around and sees Richard with his son in the balcony. Caroline leaves the alter and walks halfway down the aisle. She looks at Richard with an expression that says,"I missed you, I still love you, What the heck are you doing at my wedding..."

I'm still stressed about this ending!! I really wish we had had a bit more closure. It's highly unsatisfactory...
