Oh No Anyone know someone like this?

Someone who talks down to people like everyone is dumber than them and don't understand anything?

I work with this guy who must think everyone around him is a total moron. The other day he was telling me what to do during a tornado. Um...I'm 26 years old, have lived in this state all my life, which includes school...where they taught us that. I just smiled and nodded. And then he says, "Now if I'm not here, you go into the ladies room and sit on the floor." Uh...I'M 26...I do not need you to hold my hand. Sheesh. He's always doing other similar stuff to me, like telling me how to do some simple task a 5 year old could figure out.

He does it with our patients too. He'll give them a 5 minute lesson on how to, in essence, walk down this hall and turn right. I feel like telling him, old people may be hard of hearing, but they aren't infants. He was just telling a guy how to get on the interstate and he repeated it about 14 times.

People like this, especially in the workplace, get on my nerves.

Yes, I've come across people like this before. I think they are just trying to be show-offs who think they are all mighty. It does annoy me because they act like they are perfect or even above the human nature. pissed:

I actually think that some people like that may just be trying to be nice. I'm sure of them are just being patronising and showing off how much they know, but I think some are genuinely just making sure that people are clear enough about what to do. They may not mean to be rude.

"Now if I'm not here, you go into the ladies room and sit on the floor."

Is he a freaking fruitcake? I would have wanted to smack him hard. I come across fools similar to this from time to time. It depends on the situation, but I often let them know what I think of their stupid comments, even if I tell them nicely. Fortunately, I haven't come across any such people recently. And I can't recall an incident with someone as ridiculous as this guy is either.

My father was sort of like that. It got worse as he got older. He'd go on and on about something or other...checking the oil in my car or advice about finances. He really meant well and was trying to be helpful, but I hate to say that it drove me nuts at times.

You should ask this clown if he can show you how to tie your shoes while he's at it.

My dad is getting to that stage. He thinks we are still little. I know he means well.

My mom and dad are that way.

It drives me ultimately nuts, the dumb thing is that between the both of them they don't have the intelligence of a Gerbil. But hearing them you'd think they knew everything, grrr.

My dad is like that about some things. My brothers and I used to all handle money in our jobs. So during cold and flu season our dad was big on reminding us to wash our hands. That was bad enough but somtimes he'd give us instructions on how to wash them, telling us to use "hot soapy water". I guess he forgot that we are all in our 20's. I think it's funny actually, I know it's just because he worries about us.

My dad. when we get into an argument, he takes 3 hours when it should only be a 1/2 hour. all because he repeats himself 15 times.

The guy I work with sometimes treats me like it's my first day on the job. Tasks that I have done hundreds of times he still feels that he has to talk me through.
When we have to do something, I know automatically what tools we will need, how to set things up, and what I'll be doing throughout the process, yet he still has to tell me everything I need to get or to be doing.

It's gotten to the point that I actually recite things along with him and finish sentences kind of like what Radar would do with Col. Potter and Col. Blake on "M*A*S*H."

It drives me crazy. Which we all know, isn't that long of a drive.
