I don't at my house, I have it on my cell though. It's not really needed, and if you're watching your spending it cuts a few dollars off the phone bill each month, which can add up...

I couldn't live without it. It determines if I pick up the phone or not, which is helpful when you're avoiding someone.

I know someone, me. I don't see the need for it. I just let my answering machine pick it up and if its someone who really wants to talk to me they would leave a message and I will pick it up.

So THAT'S why I'm always getting the machine.

You can just leave a message and maybe I'll return it when I get it.

I need caller ID, especially on my call waiting because it will let me know whether or not to click over

Nope, I don't have it either. I screen my calls with the answering machine. As others have said, if they really want to talk to me they'll say something.

I didn;t think people had those type of answering machines anymore that you plug into the wall.

I am the same way. I remember when I lived with my sister, she would give me so much crap about that. She'd get annoyed just because I didn't want to pick up the phone when certain people would call. Anyway, MOST people who would call were USUALLY for my sister, so I just got tired of saying, "She's not here." Eh. They can always call her back later anyway.... It was to the point where I would have to "pretend" I didn't hear it or get to it in time. I just couldn't do that all the time without looking like I was deaf or something. It had to be believeable....

The only phone I am currently using is my cellphone, and it has caller ID. I am dependent on it.
