Her kids were concerned (not Michael) abt where their mom was, they were worried. Do you think she should have called the kids and said I am having a good time, don't worry, I will be home late?
Obviously the kids weren't used to Flo being out, so I think she should have. Not only that, Flo was the type of person who was worried abt her kids, so I found it odd that she wouldn't call her kids to just make sure THEY ARE OK. Remember that honeymoon episode, she was worried abt them and she HADN'T EVEN LEFT YET. She called them as soon as she got to the lodge. |

No I don't think she had to call. She was an adult and didn't have to answer to anyone. I think that JJ and Thelma should have been glad that their mom went out to have a good time to take her mind off of James. And in the episode when she and James went on their second Honeymoon, she had Thelma dna Michael to worry about.
But in that episode JJ cracked me up when he said that he knew that there was a phone where she was and that she could have called to let her family know that she was ok LOL |

Flo did live in the ghetto; a simple phone call to say "hey kids, I am here with Willona and having a wonderful time...don't wait up for me, goodnight" simple. her kids were worried. They weren't used to her going out. They just wanted a little peace of mind. |

Keep in mind Irene, Flo is the same woman who ran off to sunny Arizona and left her kids to fend for themselves in the cold ghetto of Chicago. lol

Yes, I think she should have. Not because they couldn't have fended for themselves but because I think folks living together should at least let each other know they're not going to be coming in for the night so the others don't needlessly worry.

I think she should've called too - just kept it short and simple, "I'm fine, having fun and will be home later." I still live with my folks (I DO pay rent and help out around the house), but I still call them if I'm out late or delayed or whatnot. I just don't want to worry them.

^ Well said.
I'm almost 28 but I still tell my folks when I'm coming and going. They appreciate it, too, because my brother (who's 23) never tells us ANYTHING about where he goes when he's not working.
