I'm curious to know who here has an accent, whether it be southern, mid-western, New Yawk, Baaaston, hispanic, etc. I use to have a thick New York accent before I went for speech lessons to get rid of it.

I'm told I have a Boston accent, but not a strong one. I don't hear it. I think everyone else sounds different, lol.

Southern accents vary. Mine is light and almost like a "southern belle" type of thing. My Grandfathers is like redneck-larry the cable guy ish like.

just FYI

and i hate that people get the impression that people with southern accents are stupid/homophobic/bush whorshipors. cos I am not any of those things mmk?

I have a Long Island accent, but not the most prominent one...I've heard worse.

I'm Hispanic so yes I have an accent. Most people can't figure it out.

I think Californians are the only people who are born without a certain accent. lol

I'm from Michigan and never once thought I had an accent until I came across a site that has all the words that Michiganders say differently from people around the country. So yes, I do have a slight accent.

everyone has an accent no matter how standard it is; i guess i don't really have a special one, but on a less related note i tend to use alternate pronunciations for common words, ie "eye-ther" for "either".

well i dont notice it, but when i went to florida i was talking to this lady and she said "where are you from?" to me and my mom and i said "new york" and she said "oh yeah i can tell by your accent." i dont really know what a new york accent is though lol
