Default Isaac Hayes quits South Park....

He says they've crossed the line on religious satire, but read what Matt Stone had to say:

That's just the way Scientologists are. The second you even attempt to poke fun at their "religion," they get all bent out of shape and almost always sue.

I think this quote says everything -

"There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs of others begins."

How hypocritical of him to say those exact words but never complain when other religions are made fun of. His point of view loses all credibility now.

So, do they get someone else to do Chef's voice next season? If so, who? Barry White was the first choice befure Hayes, but he turned it down. Secondly, Barry is deceased.

Wink

Isaac Hayes should go back into the closet with his fellow spacemen Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

I don't think they need to. Have you watched South Park? Chef has appeared in very few episodes the few seasons. They were fazing him out to begin with. So the show will not be hurt.

Since when is making fun of Scientology "religious satire"?

Wouldn't it have to be an actual religion to qualify for that?

I guess Isaac has made enough money off a show that brutally humorizes all ethnicities, religions, handicapped people and people of various sexual orientations, so now he can take a stand based on his cult's beliefs.

I'm not criticizing South Park, because that's what they do. I'm not a fan of the show, but I've watched on a few occasions and gotten an illicit chuckle from their over-the-top politically incorrect humor here and there.

He probably was made to quit;either way, this move probably was for the best, as Isaac can go on with his career since they didn't have him on as much, and South Park can gently fade into the sunset since the show has gone down some.

Is that why they had Chef die and become "Chef Vader "?

I should take back what I said earlier about Hayes being a hypocrite. I just saw an old clip of him doing a radio interview right after the "Trapped in the closet" episode aired. He wasn't really offended at all and when he was asked about the episode targeting scientology, he said that basically it was no big deal because Matt and Trey make fun of everything on the show. That's a far cry from his alleged "I can't tolerate religious bigotry" quote that was made last week.

The whole thing is pretty suspicious anyway if you think about it. "Trapped in the closet" aired back in November. So why would it take Hayes 3 1/2 months for him to speak out about his displeasure over an "attack" on his "religion?" It seems fairly obvious that his fellow scientology cult members forced him to quit the show. I think Matt and Trey used that to focus on the season premiere. Just like with Chef, don't hate on Hayes. Instead hate the "fruity" club that filled his head with all of this crap.

I think you're right. I'll bet Tom Cruise and others had a talk with him about it. I'm sure Cruise was personally offended by the closet episode too. Those gay rumors have been circulating for years. Maybe Big Gay Al should have a partner named Big Gay Tom!
