Smile Doesn't ANYBODY like the Pre-Fab Four?

Wow... absolutely no topics on this board! I thought with the recent marathon on VH1 that at least *some* of the die-hard fans would come out of the woodwork! Personally, I love the show.. and so does my 7-year-old niee. We recorded about 6 hours of the marathon and she watches the tape over and over again So does anyone else like the Monkees, or are me and my Niece alone?

So is liking The Monkees something to be ashamed of? I checked on Napster and was able to get every single song they ever recorded... WHEN WILL THE PREJUDICE END???

I do, I do,(waving my arm wildly) and have since 1966. I raised my kids on them, and now my two grandkids. My youngest son who is 12, went to his first Monkees concert in 1989 when he was just 18 months old. My kids, my mom and I have seen at least one of them, each year, in concerts or plays since 1986. Sometimes they don't come near where we live, so that year our vacations are spent where ever one of them is performing.

Wow... that's like COOL, but in a real creepy, stalker-type of way

Looks like I should start to posting some topics here then, shouldn't I?

You are NOT alone. Just let me say HELLO FRIEND !!!
I really LOVE The Monkees. Last Time the show was on here (in Germany) was in 1997 - huh, long time ago, ha? - But I never stop watching them, and of course, I never stop hearing them. - They will always have a place in my heart (in my videorecorder, in my CDplayer, etc )

Hey,I loved The Monkees when it was first on. I loved Mickey's jokes,Davy's liasions and Mike's clear thinkins as opposed to Peter's silliness! It was one of my favorite shows during the first season.I didn't think it was quite as good during it's second season-but I always loved their songs, and I still have their first four albums.

Heh.

Last time I saw the Monkees was also in the Summer of '97, right before N@N aborted the Monkees Monday night on Block Party Summer. That was when I first discovered the Monkees, BTW.

I missed the marathon on VH1 over the summer, nad have been kicking myself ever since.

I had The Monkees as a favorite show at the beginning. When my grades were bad in 7th grade I could only watch two TV shows a week and one of them was-The Monkees!I loved their songs and their stories, and had their first four albums.Every one of the Monkees had his own special talent, musical or otherwise.I admired when they broke free from Kirshner control and played their own songs-but at the same time they were taking their show less seriously-which is one reason it only lasted one more season.

I got hooked on The Monkees ever since ABC aired that special a few years ago. Shortly after words I saw some episodes on VH1, bought some CDs, and as they say, the rest is history.

I love the Monkees. My sister and I use to buy all the fan magazines and play their records to death. We loved the show...... The Monkees music was fantastic too! I have the greatest hits CD, plus all the old albums. I just found this board so maybe that's why you don't see many fans yet.... I love Davy Jones, Mickey Dolenz, Peter Tork, & Mike Nesmith in that order!
