Default Partridge/Brady skit

Does anyone else remember the Partridge/Brady skit on SNL in the early 90's? Susan Dey (Laurie Partridge) was the host, and they were doing the Partridge Family practicing in the garage. Then the Brady Bunch kids walked (like they lived down the street) in and challenged them to a battle of the bands.

Dana Carvey played a hilariously accurate singing Keith and Susan Dey at the keyboard couldn't keep from laughing as she watched him performing.

Adam Sandler was Peter Brady with cracking/changing voice.

The castmember at the time who played Jan had been in a live Brady Bunch touring play, and I think this skit popularized the "Marcia Marcia Marcia!" line.

That was an AWESOME skit, one of the best they've EVER done!

Everyone, if you ever notices that Susan Dey is the host of SNL show being rerun, be sure to catch this...do NOT miss it!!

They also had Kevin Nealon as Greg, and Victoria Jackson played Cindy... and Susan Dey, of course, portrayed Laurie Partridge...

They had a battle of the garage bands, with each group lip synching to their most famous songs (and Dana Carvey WAS perfect as David Cassidy)...

During the skit, Laurie (Susan) commented that the Bradys treat Alice "like crap" because they don't even let Alice eat dinner with them... to which Victoria Jackson (as Cindy) replied, "that's not true, we love Alith".

And Melanie (I forget her last name, begins with an "H") played Jan of course, and later reprised the role in the Brady Bunch theatrical releases...she was in the regular cast of SNL at the time.

Classic, classic SNL skit!!

I agree, it was one of their best ever.

Also, Mike Myers was Danny. He did a funny fake bass guitar performance.

Here's a link to the full sketch online at the website of Melanie Hutsell(who played Jan) who wrote:

When I was little, I used to get the characters from "The Partridge Family" and "The Brady Bunch" confused. At one point, I even thought they were all one family. So when I found out that Susan Dey was going to be hosting SNL, there was no avoiding it: My opportunity to make this childhood fantasy come true, was staring me in the face. It was a lot of fun!

One problem, though: Mushmouth was wearing Dumb Donald's mask.

I know. I didn't realize it until after I saw it years ago. Newsradio had a dialogue where they were confused over Dumb Donald and Mush Mouth!

My favorite part of this skit is Chris Farley as Rueben Kincaid saying "I'll show you who daddy is!" and makes out with the mom played by Julia Sweeney!
