It depends, they aren't very clear about what they mean about games. They could be refering to downloadable games that could cause viruses on the network or just games overall.

Sorry Dawsongirl, but I have to side with the company on this one. You are there to work and not do stuff that you could and should be doing at home. I would guess they have to be consistent with their regulations and have it apply to everyone, no matter how boring their specific job is.
But yeah, if you don't like it maybe you should quit. The company is just trying to protect it's interests by not having people squander their time on personal pursuits using the companies time and money.

As for your question, I am guessing that you probably wouldn't be able to go to those sites. And although there are probably ways around this, I probably wouldn't try because they could probably tell where you are going, and you could be fired.
Of course, if you are fired you might be able to go on unemployment, so maybe that is not such a bad way to go either.

Like I don't work? I answer the phone every time it rings and everything else I'm supposed to do. They didn't have to put the internet on the computer they put at my desk, because all the work applications are not online. The lady that trained me even said I could play games. My boss has seen me doing it and she had no problem with it. As long as the job gets done, we're allowed to keep ourselves from falling asleep. I do everything I'm supposed to, so don't you dare insinuate I don't.

Whoa! Chill a little bit, would you?! I never said you don't do your job. I was just trying to state the facts on how the company might be thinking in this matter. If you took it personally, I apologize. I didn't mean it that way. Looking over my post again, I can see how you could take it that way. One thing I did was I used the word "squander" when I probably should have used "use their time". Trust me, I know how monotonous a desk job can be, and I too would slip onto the internet just to clear my head a little.
