Lightbulb yeah, I read that on its site...

I read about that on the tvparty.com site, and it's quite interesting indeed!
It's really commendable in how Shirley remained on a real & unspoiled level of things when she was successful on the set and so on.

PFFFFFFTTT! (Like Archie Bunker and Gloria do in spitting out frustrations!)
Sucks, sucks, sucks. I didn't find any humor in that whatsoever.

I cannot believe she did that to herself, lately...ohhh, the lady has some issues indeed, just as I figured...

And oh yeah! My Dee is looking upwards, all right; in her trademark attitude and all! Glad you like it!

I was surprised to read that the Fat Jokes were starting to get to Fred Berry. Very Surprised, especially since they were about Freddie Stubbs, not Fred Berry.

Cool And the thing about the "fat jokes" was...

But one thing about the fat jokes, though...
Where Rerun/Fred Berry was apparently affected by them, Shirley didn't seem to be affected by any of those. I guess it just goes to show the huge difference in self-esteem levels?
Shirley kinda reminds me of Mo'Nique, in accepting herself as being large.
It's too bad that Fred Berry/Rerun couldn't deal with it well...really.

Both the character and the actor were both fat though. Remember that interview Eric Monte did on TVLand a few years ago? He said that TV Execs didn't want to see little white girls going for a black guy on TV. His character was suppose to be a thin white guy, but they took him out and put Rerun in. Fred Berry wanted the role, he knew what he was getting into he said he was fat and was 300Ibs, and he took it from there.

Still was about the character and not him. So that means he shouldn't have been on the show at all. I wonder if the UGLY jokes got to Lawanda Page?-lol

You would think it did, because she was the butt of ugly jokes on other shows like Amen, Family Matters, and Martin.
