When I took typing class in Jr. High, it was 35-40 wpm. Not too bad for a male.

I haven't time myself in ages, but I know it's at least 60 wpm. I type the way we were taught. I use the correct fingers for each key. I don't look at the keyboard.

Last time I was tested, it was 39. Which was 1 dmn word slower than I needed for the job.

Oh well. But then the room I was in was noisy, with people walking in and out, and I can't freakin concentrate with distractions like that.

And yes, I look at the keys most of the time.

Some of you who have never tried a laptop keyboard should find one and test with it. I guarantee you'll slow down a little.
