Default Season 2 DVD: Why is it not out yet?

I would like to know what is taking so long for Season 2 of Happy Days to be released on DVD?

this fact from amazon.com might have something to do with failure for more releases. bad sales figures might mean no more new releases, also Laverne and Shirley and Mork and Mindy were both ranked lower than this show so probably no new releases for these shows either.

Amazon.com Sales Rank: #6,357

Is it also the clearing the rights for music during that season a problem too?

Yep, the music is part of it, but, based on what I've read, it's the poor sales figures that is the main problem.

Default season one sales were weak

paramount is a materialistic company that cares about one thing and one thing only thats money.the first seasons of all these shows mentioned did not sell.they don't care about what fans of the show want its all about money.

I have to say I can't really blame them for wanting to make money. After all, that's what they're in business for.

I know. They do. They just need to finish putting them out!

sure, but ANY company can either make or lose money depending on how they chose to do business.

Paramount failed to promote the Season 1 dvd, they failed to take advantage of the 30th anniversary reunion potential tie-in, or any other tie-ins/cross-promotions. You don't have to look very hard to find references to Happy Days in almost ANY current pop culture nowadays, and the stars of the show are all still MEGA popular and are very active - what would it have taken to get a few commentaries thrown in by Ron Howard and Henry Winkler, and ask them to help promote the dvd a bit?

I honestly think that Paramount dropped the ball here with Happy Days, and it is unfair to blame the fans for poor sales.
