What are your pick for favorite neighbors of the Post on Mr. Ed. The Addisons (Roger & Kay) or the Kirkwoods (Gordon & Winnie). I personally liked the Kirkwoods better. They seemed funnier. One episode involving Gordon was Moko where this alien from outerspace invaded the mind of Gordon, Wilbur, and a General of Gordon's past over this beautiful blond that was at Gordon's party. Each one took turns dancing with this blond until they were drunk to death. Funny show indeed!

I like both sets of neighbors. But I think I like Larry Keating (Roger Addison) a bit better than the Colonel. And I like Winnie a bit better than Kay Addison. I guess it's too late for them to switch partners!!

As for neighbors, I liked Roger and Kay Addison. However, I thought Wilbur was funnier when he was paired with Gordon Kirkwood. He seemed more nervous around Gordon, and I find nervous people funny. Mainly because I can identify with that.

Loved Roger & Kay! Always disappointed when the Kirkwood episodes start.
But even worse, I really dislike Mr. Ed when Carol's father showed up & seemed to replace the Kirkwoods. What a dreadful old windbag! Adding Barry Kelley was like throwing a bucket of cold water on the show. |

I also dont like when Jack Alberston comes in for awhile after Larry Keating died to play Kay's brother.
I feel bad for Edna Skinner who gets pushed out of the show eventually just because her on-screen husband really dies. |

The Addisons-
Although Leon Ames was a great character actor in the movies and he was ok as the Colonel. Winnie and The Colonel just didn't have the chemistry, fiestiness or humor that Roger and Kay had. I always thought Winnie was a big bore. |

I've been trying to find out information on Larry Keating. IMDB lists his birth and death dates, and cause of death (leukemia), but I'm wondering about his life.
I'm also curious when he was diagnosed. When I watch the show as I know his end is approaching, he still looks healthy. Towards the very end, it's obvious he's an ill man. Poor guy. I'm thinking of buying Alan Young's book, Mister Ed and me. |

I like the Addisons the best. It could be that since they were the first that I saw and I was used to them. I also find it so funny how Mr. Ed is alway eating Rodger's apples and calling him names. Also Kay likes to shop and I can identify with that!

The Addisons without a doubt.
I've never cared for Leon Ames (vitually always an old sour puss in every role he ever did) And the military aspect of the character really grates on me. Larry Keating was someone you could "love" to hate. Kirwood you just hated. However Kay and Winne were sort of a tie... but Winnie was a little too wimpy. |
