Television folklore was created with Fonzie jumping the shark on Happy Days.
It has become the status of a show that is going downhill- and spawned a website on just when shows "jumped the shark"

"Who Shot JR" on Dallas is another part of folklore, a time when the nation was captivated by this silly cliffhanger.

Silly??????? My God, I couldn't wait to see the shooter. And it was tough waiting an extra month to find out since there was a writers' strike going on at the time. That "silly" cliffhanger spawned all the other nighttime soaps to follow suit.

Well yes, it is a little silly when a whole nation rallies behind the mystery of a tv show. It's a TV show. It was a national phenomenon.

And its not like it was the first cliffhanger in history, but whatever it was the timing was perfect to captivate the nation.

Speaking of The Brady Bunch, where did their pooch Tiger disappear to?

And that is NOT Will Smith's mother in opening credits of The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.

Can someone please tell me Ward Cleaver's profession?

It was the first cliffhanger to captivate a nation. you said it in your own post. AND IT WAS AN INTERNATION PHENOMENON. Not just in the U.S. They showed armed guards around the master tape being delivered to a london t.v. station that aired the show. They also showed people all around the world who had bets on who shot him. I had guessed correctly it was his sister-in-law. And of course, it was a t.v. show, but it gave birth to Dynasty, Knots Landing, and all the others that imitated but never emulated.

I remember reading at the time, that CBS (the network that aired "Dallas") got mad at TV GUIDE because they printed the outcome of that cliffhanger before the episode aired. For anyone who dosen't know-or still cares after all these years-it was J.R.s sister-in-law, Kristen (who was then killed the next season)

I'd like to know why the Howells took so much money, clothes and jewels for that three-hour tour.

The Huxtables family magically went from four kids to five.

I've read that the interior layout for the Brady house didn't make sense with the exterior.

Early in the first season of "That 70's Show," Donna was the middle child of the Pinciotti family.
She had an older sister who was mentioned once as 'being away at college" and a younger sister, who made an appearance in one episode.

By the time the first season ended, Donna was an only child.

Freaky...
