Default Do you purchase TV Shows on DVD for this reason only?

To discover all the "scenes that has been deleted in syndication". After i watch the DVD and get a chance to see all the tag scenes and other missing scenes I never saw before, I see no need to open the DVD back up and put it back in the DVD player and watch it again. Just like with Three's Company Season 6, after I go through that entire season of seeing all the TAG scenes and other missing footage, I'm pretty much done with it because the fun part is over-lol Is anyone like that? Do you watch your DVD's again after watching them the first time?

Hmmm, interesting question. I just got in the mail my DVD of Prisoner Cell Block H. An australian soap opera from back in the dayz. I will for sure watch some of it when I get back home from my appt. but will I watch it over and over again? I highly doubt it. I think I buy DVD's solely to have it in my possession, knowing that it's mine and I could watch it at anytime. I have at least five unopened DVD's as we speak.

For me it depends on the show. I normally wouldn't buy a TV DVD set just to watch missing footage. The main reason I but TV DVD's is so I can watch them anytime I want. Most of the TV DVD's I have are shows that I have not seen in years and aren't currently on TV (or weren't when I bought them). I will watch my favorite episodes on them a couple of times, but I have yet to watch an entire set over again.

I do put in season 1 of the Jeffersons over and over again, not to watch a ep from start to finish but to see classic scenes. But not watching the entire episodes all over again.

I wish I could but most of the scenes were shown in the UK anyway so I don't get that added pleasure, ofcourse buying Roseanne Season 1 and missing parts that air everyday is kind of a nice way of shaking things up.

No ... I don't purchase shows just to see the parts that haven't been shown in syndication. There are other reasons why I purchase shows on DVD.

I'm very selective over what tv dvds I buy and for that reason, yes I do re-watch my dvds over... at least twice with a couple of months gap in between. After that it's the odd episode here and there. And the main reason I buy tv dvds is for nostalgia... yes I do have certain "newer" tv series, but I don't class them in my collection (Des H'wives, Voyager etc). Not overly bothered about cut scenes.

I buy mostly classic tv shows, although I do have a couple of newer shows. So far I haven't rewatched any of my dvd's, cause I have a few more to watch before I can rewatch any of them. The only shows I have rewatched are Sanford And Son the 1st season and Bewitched season 1, Samantha Meets The Folks it was my favorite episode I love Aunt Clara.

I buy way too many TV shows on DVD, plus I have a lot of stuff in my VHS, Beta, and DVD-R collection, so nowadays, there never seems to be time to watch anything. But I still collect shows because I loved them when they were on. I would hope that the quality of the picture and sound would be superior to anything I recorded myself, so I consider the retail versions an upgrade - but I rarely get rid of my off-air originals. It's only in the past year or so that I've started recording shows regularly with the intent of dumping the tapes when the show is released commercially, and even then, I don't always go through with it, because one of the tapes might have an interesting promo, commercial, or what have you.

I've lost count of the sets that I have yet to open, but when I do get in the groove with a set, I might watch parts of it over again. In the early days of TV on DVD, there were certain sets that I would watch over and over again. I'm not big on watching the extras, although I like to know they are there. I certainly try to collect that kind of stuff when I'm recording a show off the air.

I'd love to have the time rewatch some of my shows. :>

I just rewatch to see certain scenes but never an entire episode.

Shows that i dont like to re-watch all the way through, help me go to sleep, like Jeff Foxyworthy's show, or Home Improvement, when i'm up at night and can't sleep, those shows help me get some sleep because of homw un-funny they are..

No that's a waste of money, if I wanted to only watch the deleted scenes then I'll get them from Netflix.
