Default Candace Bushnell Is Joining Sirius Satellite Radio

I read the news that former "Sex and the City" star Candace Bushnell is now hosting her show on Sirius Satellite Radio with Howard Stern as the first morning host who was joined on the same satellite provider back in January after he left broadcast radio for good. Here is an article from the Daily News. (By the way, I don't get Sirius Satellite Radio.):

Sex & Sensibility on Sirius

BY PHYLLIS FURMAN
DAILY NEWS BUSINESS WRITER

Carrie Bradshaw, meet Howard Stern.

Candace Bushnell, the author who spawned Bradshaw, "Sex and the City," and a whole generation of women talking frankly about sex, is joining Stern at Sirius Satellite Radio.

"Candace Bushnell's Sex, Success, and Sensibility," a weekly, four-hour talk show, will debut this spring on Sirius Stars Channel 102, Sirius is set to announce today.

The live call-in chatfest will look to explore what women think about men, relationships and their careers.

Special guests will be invited to take listeners' calls.

"It's really about the challenges, dreams and fears of contemporary, modern women," Bushnell told the Daily News.

While this is Bushnell's first radio show, she claimed she's well-suited for the medium.

"Since I was eight years old, I had lots of little girlfriends and I was always giving advice," she said.

But don't count on lots of uncensored sex talk.

At age 47, Bushnell, who is married to New York City ballet principal dancer Charles Askegard, said she's more focused on "careers and aspirations" than on landing Mr. Big.

Her latest book, "Lipstick Jungle," leaves romance-seeking Bradshaw and her pals behind to showcase power hungry career women.

"There will be some sex talk - when it's appropriate," she said, adding, "It's not a sex show."

Sirius is gunning for more girl power following rival XM's signing of Oprah Winfrey to a $55 million deal for a 24-hour "Oprah & Friends" channel.

Sirius already has a Martha Stewart channel and is set to launch a channel based on women's magazine Cosmopolitan in the spring.

"We consider (Bushnell) a major building block in our programing for women," Sirius spokesman Patrick Reilly said.
