Default Do you think Family Matters will ever have a special reunion show?

I think it would be so cool if Family Matters did a special reunion show. It would be neat to see where the characters would be at this time.

Yeah that would be cool. Maybe they will do a 20th Anniversary Reunion Special or something.

I sure wish that a Family Matters reunion would happen. The only sad thing is, even though the show has been off the network for 8 years, there have still been some cast member deaths. Rosetta LeNoire (Mother Winslow) and Michelle Thomas (Myra) died after the show ended, so I'm not sure if it would be right to do the special. But, however, the entire cast sometimes doesn't appear in the reunion special (ex. The Nanny reunion; Niles didn't appear).

Yeah, of cousre, not all characters are really needed to be in the reunion. Even though it was sweet to see Mother Winslow, and she always had something funny or sweet to say in the show and would be missed, I think it would still make a great special.

Oh, when I mean special, I don't mean the reunion thing where they sit around and talk memories, I'm talking about a special updated movie or something.

They could still do the reunion show with out Mother Winslow, they did The Golden Girls Reunion without Sophia Petrillo!

I could see them doing a special where they talk about memories and moments behind the scenes but an update show I think will not happen. Jaleel White has stated countless times that he will not reprise any of the Urkel characters.

^ Aw poor Jaleel White. I can just imagine the difficult time he had trying to move past Urkel.

Yeah, I remember in an interview he stated how he was typecast in the role. When he would go on dates, the women would ask him to do the Urkel voice and dance. He even mentioned that members of the general public would do him the same way. I think he wanted to be recognized for his skills rather than his character especially since he has grown up.

I'd love to see a 10-year reunion. It wouldn't be hard to work around the deaths of Michelle Thomas and Rosetta LeNoire and throw in some video tributes to both.

Mother Winslow's death could easily be explained; she was elderly when the show started and it's perfectly reasonable to expect her to have passed on from natural causes in the time since the show ended. Just have the characters reflect on her for a segment.

I don't really like the idea of Myra Monkhouse being dead in the Family Matters universe though. They could write around her absence by saying that Steve changed Stefan back into a nerd via the transformation chamber so she could have an Urkel of her own to live happily ever after with. This revelation of course would be accompanied by Carl making an unnerving comment about the prospects of another Steve running around somewhere out there.

Speaking of Carl, it would be funny to see his nightmare of Steve and Laura's spawn coming true.

That would be a cool idea and a lot better than hiring another actress to replace Michelle as Myra. Then again, as Steve once mentioned. "The world isn't ready for two Steve Urkels."

It would be cool to see a reunion show. It would be nice too to hear them talk about the memories of the show. What it was like trying to rehearse all their lines without laughting. How many times it took for them to do the taping of the episodes without laughting.
