I don't suppose I have a question, just an observation. I noticed on the first episode that Smallville's population was 25,000 during the meteor shower, then 12 years later it is 45,000. That is a big population increase in 12 years for a town that size. Now I know for those of you who live in a city, 45,000 is nothing. But it's not exactly a one horse town where everybody knows everybody either, but that's how they play it out. I am familiar with various size towns, and it just doesn't fit what I know. Smallville's main street looks like a town I know with about 1800 population. Towns I know with 45,000 have Wal-Marts, Shopping Malls, 100s of restaurants, and certainly more than one high school. Smallville looks like Mayberry. I'm not poking fun because I love the show, but this just puzzled me. Does anyone else have any comments.

I haven't really paid attention to the population stats. But since you mentioned
it, yes, that figure does seem more than a little bit off. In fact, with all the freakish things that have happened there, I would think the population of Smallville would be decreasing, not increasing. After the meteor shower, I would think that a lot of people would want to move somewhere else (if they could). |

Would it have anything to do with the new jobs that were available at Lexacorp when it opened in Smallville? I think that would be a big part of it...but I guess that would still be a lot of people, but they're suppose to be one of the largest and advanced companies in the world...and then you have people who quit/get fired and stay in the area afterwards...so yeah. I think that could be the reasoning behind it. They came to the area the same time of the meteor shower, correct?
