Arrow SO Interview: Ags2000 (Week 8)

Ags2000's name is one of four names picked for the SO Interview of the Week!!

Ask Ags2000 anything. And away we go....

My question:

Tell us a little more about yourself? What brought you over to SO? What are some of your favorite hobbies? Is your name Agnes, Angela or something? Is your username part of your real name?

Question

What's your earliest childhood memory?

How do you envision your life five years from now?

Are you a good cook?

What is your style of dressing/fashion?

Do you have any pets?

First off, sorry for not responding earlier, I've been sick and this is the first day I've been out of bed. Not on to the scrutiny.

Facts of Life brought me originally to these boards. I always loved the show and was looking for pictures and SO came up as a hit. I came over and the rest is history.

Hobbies...I have a couple. I am a certified open water scuba diver and I try to go out when I can. I love models: planes, cars, boats, ships, doesn't matter I have them all over my room. I love playing with my animals. Currently I have 1 dog and cat. I love animals so much that I volunteer at an aquarium in the town north of me. Unfortunatly, I have not been able to get over there latelt b/c my mom had surgery a bit ago and I've been helping her around the house and helping here at physical therapy as well as going to college and getting ready to graduate this summer. Something had to go and unfortunately it was the aquarium. Although as soon as mom goes back to work...I get to go back to the aquarium

No Ags2000 has nothing to do with my name. I'm an Aggie at heart (Texas A&M University) and I was originally going to graduate in 2000 before family stuff prevented that. I used that handle other places so I got used to it and still use it today.

My earliest childhood memory was when I was younger then 4. I don't know the exact age, I can remember living in Japan. We lived in Japan from the time I was 1 until 4 when we moved back to the states. I can remember going on walks with my family in the shopping districs in town. I can sorta remember our house.
I can remember my best friend...John John was what we called him. I was over at his house one day and I had to be home at a certain time. John John didn't want me to leave so he got a chair and locked the top of the door. I got upset because I knew I had to be home at a certain time. So in the hallway was a phone, I picked it up and called my mom. I told her what had happened and she asked if John John's mom was there. I said yes and my mom told me to go tell her and she would let me out. Gee...my mom was so smart. Years later my family still laughs that I called mom on the phone rather then just telling John John's mom.

That's a tough question and I have no idea. Obviously I'll have a job and I doubt I will be living in South Texas anymore. I'm graduating college this summer so I guess I will go where ever I can find a job...as long as it is in Texas.

Yeah I am. I don't have time to cook all that often, but when I do I cook great. For valentines this year, my mom couldn't leave the house b/c of her surgery so I made a candle light dinner for my parents at the house complete with desert and wine.

I've never really had a "fashion" growing up. My dad was in the navy and the paycheck was not all that great for a single guy much less one that is married and had 4 kids. I'm a VERY casual dresser. Give me my jeans and boots any day of the week, but at the same time give me a fancy place to go and I clean up pretty good.

I currently have 2 pets. A dog Reagan and a cat Midnight. I had another dog up until January, Red, but she just died. Her picture is my avator.

Reagan is half black lab half cocker spaniel. All black except for a white patch on her chest and left front paw. She made her way into our backyard about 7 years ago. After trying to find her owners, we adopted her.

Midnight also adopted us. She and her brother came to us the year it snowed while we were living in Florida. They made their way into our garage for warmth. We never could find their owner so my parents said we could keep one only. We put an ad in the paper and the couple that answered took the male. Left us with Midnight.

Well, I'm getting my degree in Accounting, so I guess something to do with that or animals. I love volunteering at the aquarium, and I could see myself doing that.

Yes, all the time. I live in a small town and there is not alot to do here. We have a movie theater, a boqling alley on the base and at the college, a pretty descent park and some bars. You can only take so much of that before going nuts.

I have some friends that I've had since highschool that live here so we get together often and have bbq's movie nights, and game nights. When that gets old I'll take a weekend trip to see one of my siblings.

Not very well. I actually deal with alot better then I used to, but it took LOTS of time and a total collapse on my part. I have Depression and stress is not always my friend. But thanks to medications and GREAT counceling, I'm better now.

Now when I stress I usually go play my PS2. I have severl gorry games and when I get really stressed I go kill things on the game. It's a good stress releaver. I will also just take my dog to the park and play with her. Playing with my animals has a VERY calming effect on me. Other then that, I talk ALOT when I get stressed and tell people don't mess with me today. If that doesn't work..I just go outside and scream until I can't scream anymore. That one ALWAYS works when nothing else does.
