kind of different looking but I like it. This is one set I will pick up on day one. I got my friend to tape me a few off of Good Life and I enjoyed it.

How's it going Ben? I haven't heard from you in awhile. Is Honeymooners.net pretty much dead?

Supposedly there are extras on them and I am curious what they will be made up of.

Rob. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's just not extra episodes. Remember what MPI did, they had a "bonus" on it's DVDs. It was a bonus episode.

Very true Greg, I can't possibly imagine what "extras" they could have except for maybe the commercials that were originally shown. I doubt there are out-takes, since they rarely (if ever) stopped tape. One thing I hope for is that MPI restores them to their full original length with the Glea Girl openings. Time will tell.

Keeping in mind, there were about seven or eight "short" episodes that were aired within Gleason variety shows during the program's last two years (1968-1970) on the air. And don't forget the sketch from the 1973 Gleason special. Sounds to me that they may be the "bonuses" in question.

I think on the contrary; MPI is known for pulling off very nice sets. I just bought THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES VOLUME ONE from them- I was very impressed and I've only watched one episode thus far (and a couple extras (the extra pilot footage and Linda Kaye Henning's intro)). They can pull off the following as far as I can see: interviews, rare footage (there's lots of it, trust me), bloopers (there has to be some), commentaries (with "experts" who have written books on THE HONEYMOONERS, etc.), original sponsor spots, commercials with the cast. And that's only scratching the surface.

MPI has come a long way I will admit. But when they first began, and especially in regard to the "Lost Episodes" of The Honeymooners, they made a great deal of errors in packaging, titling of episodes, and distinguishing proper air dates for certain episodes. Their releases of both the VHS and DVD versions of the "Lost Episodes" varied a bit, especially when re-makes of episodes were being included. The DVD's were not a "mirror" of the VHS series. It was a matter of consistency. It's for that reason I have retained my copies of the VHS releases even though I bought the DVD's. They are more complete. Hopefully when they re-release them they will include both versions of re-made episodes (I am referring to episodes such as "Manager Of The Baseball Team" and "What's Her Name?").

Hey Greg and everyone else!

As far as I know, honeymooners.net is no more. It's passed away into the graveyard known as cyberspace. For the time being this isn't a bad place to post, but I'm hoping maybe sometime soon setting up a webpage with a message board for all of us to post. I've been wanting to do it for sometime, but things keep getting in the way. If I can find a good message board program, kind of like this one or even the one John has on the webpage where we can edit it and be in charge of it, I would set it up! My idea is to set it up and have input from all the people who were on the original board to help with it. Each person add their own touches to it to help make it a popular site. I always liked what John did with his fan site, but I would like to make a "fanS" site with all the input from all different fans. Besides an episode guide, maybe a section where all the fans can vote and rate episodes?!?!?

I'm really looking forward to June. I wonder if any sites has it up yet for presale? What I'm curious about is that Jackie Gleason Genius, or whatever it was called, that was linked on the tvshowsondvd.com article. Any idea????

I am looking forward to this release because I've never seen these 1966 color shows and never saw anyone else portray Alice besides Audrey

I really think that 2006 & 2007 will be a good year for Honeymooners fans. I have no knowledge of anything coming out or being released, I just think that over the next year or two, a lot of rare shows will be coming out on DVD release.
