Default Let's Reminisce About The NBA In The 80's & 90's

The 80's and early 90's were my favorite decades of the NBA. I first started watching the NBA in 1988 when Michael Jordan won the slam dunk contest in Chicago at all star weekend when he beat Dominique Wilkins. I feel that Dominique was cheated but since the game was in Chicago, i figured the judges would give it to Jordan. Jordan soaring from the foul line was incredible. When Dominique threw the ball off the backboard and caught it and dunked it, i said wow. That dunk was tight. I think Dominique did a windmill in that competition. I wish i had that dunk contest on tape. That was a classic dunk contest. My favorite players in the 80's were Larry Bird, Reggie Lewis(RIP), Patrick Ewing, Gerald Wilkins, Charles Barkley, Hersey Hawkins, Bernard King, Jeff Malone, Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Vinnie Johnson, Adrian Dantley, Dominique Wilkins, Spud Webb, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Brad Daugherty, Mark Price, Ron Harper, John(Hot Rod)Williams, Terry Cummings, Alvin Robertson, Jay Humphries, Ricky Pierce, Reggie Miller, Chuck Person, Detlef Schrempf, Rolando Blackman, Derek Harper, Mark Aguirre, Roy Tarpley, Alex English, Layfette Lever, Michael Adams, Akeem Olajuwon, Otis Thorpe, Karl Malone, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Byron Scott, Xavier Mcdaniel, Dale Ellis, Clyde Drexler, Terry Porter, Jerome Kersey, Kevin Johnson, Mitch Richmond, Chris Mullin. In the 90's i liked Tim Hardaway, Chris Webber, Latrell Sprewell, John Starks, Shawn Kemp, Nick Anderson, Dennis Scott, Shaq, Penny Hardaway, Derrick Coleman, Kenny Anderson, Drazen Petrovic(RIP), Glen Rice, Steve Smith, Mookie Blaylock, Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, Kendall Gill, Laphonso Ellis, Chris Jackson aka Mahmoud Abdul Rauf, David Robinson, Rod Strickland, JR Rider, Cedric Ceballos, Richard Dumas, Eddie Jones, Nick Van Exel, Gary Payton, Cliff Robinson. Those were the good old days. Players didn't have tattoos back then all over their body LOL. Remember Pistons and Bulls rivalry? The Pistons were always beating up on them LOL. Remember when Xavier Mcdaniel and Michael Jordan got in each other's faces during the Knicks and Bulls playoff series? Knicks and Heat rivalry was fierce. PJ Brown slammed Charlie Ward to the floor LOL. Alonzo Mourning and Larry Johnson were fighting. Jeff Van Gundy tried to grab onto Alonzo's leg and got dragged LOL. Pacers and Knicks playoff series was fierce too. Remember that game when Reggie Miller hit three threes in 90 seconds i believe? He stared at Spike Lee and grabbed his own throat as to say the Knicks choke all the time LOL.

Those were the days. I remember when the Nets had guys like Drazen Petrovic, P.J. Brown, Kenny Anderson, Derrick Coleman, Sam Cassell, Jayson Williams, and Keith Van Horn. Basketball just isn't the same anymore.

Dominique was the 1988 slam dunk winner in my eyes, he smoked jordan. but like you said, jordan was in chicago, so they gave it to him.

Yeah, those were the "fun" days......Larry "Grandmama" Johnson, mark jackson, mcdaniel, all of them you talked about..............

Remember the high top fades they use to have?
