Default Sounded like the audience was on Clarissa's Father side for a second-lol

When Clarissa's Father said-"I busted my butt a lot of years,"-he defintely had the crowd on his side. But James got the crowd back after this

Clarissa's Father: You make it sound like success is a dirty word, BROTHER!

James: No success is not the dirty word, it's forgetting when you came from BROTHER!!!!!

When I saw this episode for the first time at 13, I thought Clarissa's Father wanted to Fight James when he said-"That's cut it's, Mr. Evans it's time me and you get down"

LOL

LOL-LOL That's what I thought too. Sounded like he'd had enough and was gonna TRY to woop James-LOL Then James would've thrown him down the stairs.

yeah, it sure seemed like it. James would've gotten the best of him.

I think the reason the audience kinda jumped on Clarissa's dad side is because they know if they make it financially, they would be outta the ghetto sooooo quick themselves. Who wouldn't? There is nothing wrong with the man having made it. The audience liked that. They just didn't like the forgetting part.

To be honest, I'm like Clarissa's Father too,"I don't want to know to the stink of the Ghetto no more"-LOL

I been out of the Ghetto for 7 years and I want to continue to bust my butt so I won;t have to go back-lol

I agree with you too. However, I wouldn't act like I was better than those who are still in the "ghetto" "projects" etc. Notice how the lady was afraid to touch the door frame on the way into the Evans apt? Their mistake was acting like no one was good for their daughter, if the guy happened to live in the ghetto. Other than that, I have no problem with his success.

No I don't act like I'm better than anyone. That's not me at all.

In a way. I agree with Clarissa's parents. No, they shouldn't have acted so snobby and stuck up towards the Evans, but I see nothing wrong with a Dad wanting the best for his daughter.

He should have told Florida, "Look, your son may be a great guy, but I want assurances that my daughter won't be back in the ghetto taking care of a husband and six kids." lol

"because it's not for sale and neither is our son!!!!! Damn, they were too goody good for my blood. When they should have taken opportunities, they didn't. That would have been a great opportunity for JJ to get more exposure, especially in the environment that Clarissa came from. They would allow a pimp (Sweet Daddy) to sponsor their son...but not a hard-working businessman who did an honest day's work and got his ass outta the ghetto?????? The Evans' needed to check their priorities. PRIDE CAN BE FATAL SOMETIMES.
