Default Why was it so important to the Evans family that the young

politician play the dozens??? Whether he can play them or not, whether he wanted to or not, does not make a difference. James and JJ were adamant abt who they were going to vote for. so were Thelma, Flo and Willona. If the younger politician had "beaten" Alderman Davis at the dozens, would there have been any difference???? I suppose this was for pure entertainment on the writers' part.

I don't think playing the dozens would have made a difference either. but I agree with james when he said that he was too "high and mighty to get down."

I know of no politician of any ethnicity who's won an election solely on dozen-playing! Funny thing is that 'the dozens' were supposed to show how 'cool' the Evanses and Balderman Davis were- but who talks like that anymore?

Even when Jimmy Pearson tried to act cool and tried to play the dozens at the end, he still looked like a GEEK-lol AND THE WAY he tried to stroll out the door made him look like a fake ass George Jefferson-lol

James was also right when he told Jimmy that he was smarter and more educated than Davis. I believe that statement. Davis seemed like a con man to me.
