(Sorry if this has already been posted)
For those of you who already heard that the Flinstones used to advertise for Winston Cigarettes, you can watch the commercial by clicking on the link below. When Wilma got pregnant with Pebbles, these commercials stopped and the Flintstones began sponsering Welche's grape juice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IvTO...ch=Flintstones |

That's okay. I've seen that commercial and downloaded it as well. Very interesting. Actually, Welch's Grape Juice was one of the show's many sponsors. |

...were sponsored, on ABC, for the first two seasons, on alternate weeks, by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. [Winston] and Miles Laboratories [One-A-Day vitamins, Alka-Seltzer]. Then, those sponsors dropped out by the beginning of season three (1962-'63; Wilma wasn't "expecting" until she announced it at the end of the January 25th episode, "The Surprise", and gave birth to Pebbles in "Dress Rehearsal" {2/22/63}). The new alternate sponsors, beginning with the 1963-'64 season, were Best Foods [Skippy peanut butter, Niagra spray starch] and Welch Grape Juice Co. [Welch's Grape Juice, Grape
Jelly, Welchade, etc.], who sustained the show for just about the rest of the series. Examples of these sponsor's commercials featuring the cast (usually seen at the end of the show) are available from MANY sources..... |

Then it showed Fred & Wilma in their living room; she was sitting down holding a cigarette and Fred was holding a lighter, and he sang the Winston jingle. When he got to "...LIKE A" he flicked the lighter twice, then sang "CIGGERATE SHOULD" |
