Default CHARMED OFFICIALLY CANCELED

From TV Guide :

Charmed Goes Poof!

The Charmed ones have officially cast their last spell. Multiple sources confirm that execs behind the new CW network have decided to pull the plug on the eight-year drama. The final episode will air Sunday, May 21.
Ironically, executive producer Brad Kern was holed up in an editing bay all day Thursday and missed a call from the president of Spelling Entertainment giving him the official cancellation news. But it's not like it came as a surprise; he says he always intended to write this season's last episode as a series finale. "It's been a hell of a run," he says, "but all good things must come to an end."

Details of the final episode are being kept under wraps, but fan favorite Brian Krause will likely be back. And what about Shannen Doherty? Says my Charmed mole: "I wouldn't count on it." Yeah, I figured.

We all knew it was coming. But no one here doesn't like the word cancelled. It's better to say has come to an end. I wrote cancelled on my thread and no one wanted to hear the word cancelled. So I changed it.

That is going to be the end of "Charmed". I love show but I do loved Alyssa Milano, Sharron Doughrthy and Holly Marie Combs. By the way, Superstar, speaking of the last show which is coming on May 27th, I'm recording the reruns of "Charmed" on TNT beginning with season 2 on my DVD-R. That would be a great idea.

I'm not surprised. I think Charmed did good in its long run...It would be nice to have Shannen Dorherty come back in a spirit form to say good bye....but oh well.

Is there any word on what the cast will do once the show ends?

No surprise, I think it went one too many seasons. Plus with UPN and WB merging, that really lowered the chances.

Holly will probably look after her baby, Alyssa said she'd do a couple of movie and may get back into tv and Rose will do movies.

It didn't feel like it's been on for 8 yrs to me. I like the show, but it's time for it to go. There's only so many kinds of demons, monsters & storylines one can conjure up.

It sad to see Charmed go, but it was great while it lasted. 176 episodes is a great accomplishment.. hopefully Paramount adds extras for Season 6-8 when they come out. Can't wait for the final 6 episodes.

They should have like a new series where little reincarnations of each character come back to fight evil once again with the same powers of their characters... it would be played by new young actresses that resembled the be-loved original ones. It should also be directed by Shannen Doherty.
