Default Who here will be watching the Oscars on Sunday night??

I can tell you who probably won't be watching them... me. The Oscars use to be something I enjoyed watching, until I saw what bad taste the people who make the deciding votes can have in movies. One example of bad taste happened in 1998, when Shakespeare In Love beat out Saving Private Ryan for best picture. That was a major WTF kind of moment!! That was the point where my interest in the show really started going on a rapid decline. Last year was the worst though, when The Passion didn't get any major nominations, which in my opinion, was one of the biggest injustices in Oscar history!! The fact that Jim Caviezel didn't get a best actor nomination, was a crying shame. Anyway, I may tape the Oscars just incase any of my choices pull off major upsets, but I will not be watching the program otherwise. What about you all?

This is off topic, and really has nothing to do with anything, but has anyone here ever noticed that The Pirates of The Carribean, and The Passion have the exact same initials?? TPOTC. Iv'e always found that to be kind of strange.

Yes, and I can't wait. Even though it's almost a guarantee my favorite (Catherine Keener) won't win, I'm still excited to watch them.

I'll watch, but not all of it. I have to get up early for work Monday morning.

I really don't know why they just don't have the Oscars on a Friday or Saturday night. Why Sunday?

I'll watch some of it although I'm sure the movies I want to win won't. I agree with you 100% about Shakespeare In Love beating Saving Private Ryan. I still can't believe that happened. hno:

I'll watch, I just hope some of these celebs don't get on a soapbox and start preaching to me.

Yes I will probably watch it even if it is not as good as it use to be. I love watching awards show though. There is only a few that I hope wins anyway.

Unfortunately, with Jon Stewart as this years host, I'm sure there will be plenty of that. Of course, it will be in a "joking" way, so that makes it okay. I just hope Sean Penn and Michael Moore aren't there. That would really suck!!

I know. I was only able to get through half of Shakespeare In Love myself. It was even more of a dreadful experience, then the time I tried sitting through the second most nominated film of all time, The English Patient. What a nightmare that was!!

That was another film that didn't deserve it. Fargo was a much better picture that year.

Yea I don't like that either. Whoopi is the worst when it comes to hosts. I still like Billy Crystal the best. .
