Default Rob Reiner on THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES

Did you know that Rob Reiner played a long-haired, protesting college student
in two episodes of THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES ("Back to the Hills" and "The Hills
of Home")?

yes, I knew that. He was also on an episode of "The Partridge Family" once. And, I vaugley remember seeing him on an episode of some show once that aired on ABC. Ironically, it was on against "A.I.T.F." It was a sitcom called "Getting Together" or something. I remember it starred Bobby Sherman (a hot, young pop singer at the time). I think it was spun off of "The Partridge Family".

I remember we used to have an argument with my sister every Saturday night; because she liked that show and hated "A.I.T.F." and everyone else in our family liked it.
Then that other show was cannceled after one season; so that solved that problem!

You're correct. GETTING TOGETHER was previewed on a March 1971 episode of
THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY. (Source: THE COMPLETE DIRECTORY TO PRIME TIME

I saw those many yrs ago in re-runs & I think I saw them origionally too. Had no idea it was Meathead in them until I saw a re-runs of them yrs ago. I used to watch GETTING TOGETHER because I had a thing for Bobby Sherman back then lol. Had no idea he was in it tho. His Partridge Family appearance is on one of the PF dvd sets. Think it may be season 2. If I'm wrong someone will correct me I know...

Reiner must have done a lot of guest appearances before AITF...

I remember he was in one of my favorite episodes of Gomer Pyle..

Gomer was assigned to paint a mobile command post with green, beige and black camouflage colors, and these three hippies (two guys and a girl, Reiner was one of the guys) come along and offer to help Gomer finish the job... they paint one side of the vehicle in psychedelic colors, with peace signs and flowers (not sure where the different color paint came from) and Gomer says to them "this isn't right, no one's going to recognize this as a mobile command post", and the hippie says to Gomer "well, that's the idea, ain't it?"...

In the end, the colonel congratulates Gomer for the way he fooled everyone by painting the vehicle to look like a hippie wagon..

I think the three hippies originally made contact with Gomer because they noticed that the vehicle was parked on a patch of daisies. That was a great episode!

yea, that WAS a funny one! I remember seeing Rob Reiner on some awards show about 10 years ago, and he presented a clip of him from that episode. It was part of the scene where Gomer's sitting with them around a campfire, and singing with them. They said the episode was from 1969, which was the shows last season.

By far my favorite Rob Reiner guest appearance is on "The Partridge Family"
He was so good on that. It is on the Second Season Partridge Family DVD set. It is worth buying this set just for Rob Reiner's appearance alone.
