Default If someone says-"did you see the movie-"""" and you say-"No I didn't" why do

the person still decides to tell you about the movie?-lol Damm I hate that so much. After you say no, that's supposed to be the end of it. Is everyone with me on this?

I must admit, I do sometimes do that myself. It's just because I enjoy the movie so much - for example, "Back to the Future", if someone hasn't seen it, I'll probably fill them in on the main points of the plot. I'll try not to be too long-winded. I can see why it can be annoying to some people, but it's really me just being so excited about the movie and wanting to tell everyone about it because I like it so much. I do try not to go on too much, though.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Although by explaining the basic details, I may raise their interest and make them want to know more, which might entice them to try to watch it.

In some cases, people express interest in learning more. If they really didn't want to know, though, I wouldn't press on.

If someone asks you if you've seen a movie and you say 'no' you expect that person to end all talk of that movie right there?

That happens exactly never.

They will at least say "It was excellent" or "It sucked" or "go see it" or "don't see it."
The next words out of their mouth isn't a new topic.

As long as they don't give anything away, it's ok with me.
I usually tell the person not to in case they are too lost not to realize they can ruin a movie by telling too much.

That in itself still amazes me how people do that.

But I do hate when people tell the jokes from a movie after I told them I have not seen it. I will tell them to stop if they start.

I don't see where you're coming from at all. Most of my favorite movies, are ones that I had never seen until a friend told me about them. I welcome people to tell me all about the good movies they've seen.

I think that's what I was trying to ask, if someone tries to talk about something funny in a movie you haven;t seen then I do get annoyed

Kinda on the same subject, I hate it when I'm watching a movie w/someone who has already seen the movie and I haven't and they make comments like, "watch, this parts funny," or "pay attention to what so-and-so says," or gives little hints as to how the movie ends. I hate that.
agreed.
