hi im sure alot of us here watched the show when we were little but im wondering if im the only fan in history to think barneys last name was 5 and not fife until i was about 7 years old i thought barney had a number for a last name did anybody else here ever think the same thing?

Nope, but this is embarrasing. It took me a while to notice it was Andy Griffith and not Andy Griffin.

that reminds of the time that bill cosby was filling in for johnny carson on the tonight show and one of the guests was andy griffth and bill lectured the audience about how andys name was griffth and not griffin

What exactly do you mean, his name is spelled Griffith. Do you mean that you first thought it was Griffin, but later learned it was Griffith.

my brother thought the name of "THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW" was "ANDY OF MAYBERRY" until I corrected him just a couple weeks ago.

For those who don't know, "ANDY OF MAYBERRY" was what CBS named the daytime reruns, 40 years ago. AND MY BROTHER THOUGHT THAT WAS THE SHOWS REAL NAME, ALL THESE YEARS!!!!!

to be fair, though, he VERY RARELY ever watches TV, and he's NEVER had cable.
