Hugo appeared 4x. He appeared annually in seasons 7-10. He was in The Strays where George got stabbed. In year 9 he was in love with Jenny and in year 10 he was in an episode called In the Chips with Garrett Morris.

He had an usual face. Like Brad Garrett from Raymond he had an appearance that seemed made for him doing comedy.

If you look at his credits (film, t.v.) you will see he almost always played some big, weird, goofy man.

Seriously, could you see him doing drama? That would be like Paul Benedict doing a dramatic role, can't picture it. Speaking of Paul, he used to make me laugh in this series without his even having to have any dialogue.

Paul Benedict did do drama. He also did Sesame Street. He was the guy who painted the numbers back in the dayz.
As for "Hugo" he had few roles where he wasn't playing the dumb, big goofy guy. He was a cop in "The Warriors". But the majority of his roles leaned the other way. The only reason being his voice. If he didn't talk, it would be different.

Wow, I remember Paul from Sesame Street! Why did he have the special AND billing in the credits? That kind of thing is often reserved for the actor who is the 2nd or 3rd highest paid performer in the series or is the one who is already an established star. Paul wasn't that well known before the Jeffersons.

As for Irwin Keyes I have never seen him in any other role. Are you telling me that that strange voice he used as Hugo was his real voice? The strangest image of him is when he wore a suit, fedora hat and trenchcoat. He did this in his last 2 appearances and looked so odd.
