Default Don't you think it was dumb for the family to drink Kool-aid instead...

of the champagne James brought home to celebrate his graduation in "real cool job"? I mean, ok, the kids could have drank the kool-aid, but Flo, James and Willona drank kool-aid??? so why buy the champagne??????

Yes, it was dumb for the grown-ups to drink Kool-aid. BTW, I know kool-aid was the inner-city thing, but so was pop. Why couldn't they make references to pop once in a while? It was always kool aid Fanta pop was a ghetto brand pop.

I wonder why that too. Do you think they made extra money or something with the references to Big Macs, Kool-aid, etc.???

Yeah, it did seem like they were promoting Kool Aid and Big Macs. It got tiring just to hear it all the time.

You could get like 15 packs back then for a dollar. But having to buy sugar for that much kool-aid can add up. So in reality, it didn't save you much. Our family would buy kool-aid, but then we changed to Tang. That was then. Nowadays, we never buy kool-aid or Tang. It's all abt diet sodas, cranberry juices, orange juice.

Still, the fact that James bought champagne and no one drank it...than why bring it home??????

Well he poured the Champagne into some glasses for him, Florida and Wilona. I think Michael, Thelma and JJ were the ones drinking Kool-Aid.

I thought that too, but if you see the episode again, he never opens the champagne...they all drink the kool-aid.

I think they were drinking the Champagne because at one point JJ said something about getting more allowance and James ask him how much allowance was he getting and JJ said that he wasn't getting anything. And James said that he was going double his allowance and JJ got all excited and he raise his glass and then James grabs the Champagne bottle and starts to pour it and nothing comes out and James says Double nothing again or something like that.

I checked a few mins ago, James does open the bottle of Champagne and if you look at the glasses when they are empty they are dark at the bottom before any liquid was put in them.
