Music An Important message about the RUMORS going around about good old Lamont!

OK here is the deal--- this week I have been the victim of numerous rumors that are floating about. The people spreading the rumors know who they are, and they have been contacting many people. For the record---

1. I have never been involved in getting any member of this board suspended. Or any member of any other trading board, ebay, ioffer, yahoo sales, etc suspended either. 100%, no ifs, ands or buts. This is simply not true. I like OPEN boards, where all are welcome, even those I may not always like or agree with. I have never "reported" anyone. I have never tried to interfere in anyones trades or sales. I dont care what others do, trade or sell. And those that claim otherwise are simply misinformed, wrong or flat out lying. And for those who claim that whatever site suspended them "told them" that it was due to my complaints--- that is untrue also. For Example-- If ebay suspends someone, they CANNOT legally inform you if another member complained or reported you. It is against the law, and their user agreement CLEARLY states that. That simply does not happen, and anyone who was ever suspended on ebay, yahoo, ioffer, etc can attest to that fact.

Secondly, I never knowingly send anyone defective discs. I think I have had enough trades with members of this board that people should know that. Sometimes a bad disc does happen, and in that case, I am always willing to replace the defective disc, free of charge. I have even sent several members of this board, FREE DISCS when they wanted a small amount of discs, but had nothing I wanted--- or they needed a redo on 1 disc or such.
If someone claims Lamont sent them 200 dud discs of useless quality, they are not being truthful.

3rd, I have even heard that I am some sort of Narc or such, which is ridiculous---

4th, ive heard it said that I have badmouthed people I trade with to others, but this is insane. If you look at my past posts, I always try to be fair and see both sides. Even when I do disagree with someone, I try to be respectful and never make it personal. I started out shaky as a trader, and had to learn the ropes, and I understand we all make mistakes and we all screw up and we all get behind and it's a learning experience. I don't bad mouth people that I trade with. To be honest, I actually do like most people I trade with. Not all, but most. (ha ha) Trust me, I have had some trades go south also, not all trades work out well--- BUT even then, you never see a bad trader post from Lamont, I never slam someone just because it didn't work out perfect, b/c just because someone has a bad trade with me, does not mean they are a bad trader--- it just happens sometimes.

This last 2 weeks, seem to have become "Open Season" on Lamont. It seems that sometimes stuff is said about you, no matter what. I have seen stuff said about other members before, and I guess I was naive to thnk it wouldn't happen to me. I'm certainly no saint, but the crapola being said about me is simply 100% untrue. So please, If the person/people saying it, honestly believe it is, I am putting out an open invitation for them to please email me direct to discuss and resolve the matter once and for all. If I am somehow in the wrong with this person/people, I would like a chance to make it right. I am wrong too sometimes, you know. And we are all adults here. Right? Otherwise, it is simply uncool to whisper lies and spread rumors behind peoples back.

Default Rumors

Rumors and lies quickly end a traders career. It cna build resentment, and mistrust.

As a moderator, I will state this openly and honestly. I have traded Lamont about 35 times. Varying sizes in trades.
Everything has worked, minues 4 discs that were replaced asap.

Everything was received timely.

Everything was well communicated.

Earlier in the week Lamont battled his reputation from another board, one that he isn't even a member of.

It is intolerable to put a trader on trial-

If there are ANY legitiment complaints, we have several moderators here, and the SITE OWNER.

Valid and provable complaints can be discussed that way.

Anything else is rarely viewed as anything but a Witch Hunt, and a persecution.

I have not ONCE recieved a complaint about this user.
I have not been asked to mediate a situation with this trader.

Whatever mistakes were made previously this user has made every attempt to repair and redeem themselves.

-

Now, unoffically speaking I would like to raise the attention to something in regard to this.

3 weeks ago I received an email forewarning me that a user I traded, had "turned me in" to the copyright infringment authorities for trading -

I confronted the user, and it was later during that week I was able to track down enough information to find the truth in the matter - which was quite simply, a user using the two of us to cause chaos and harm both of our reputations as well as our trading relationship.

When you are confronted with a situation that "inside information" is given to you, make sure you consider the source.
And discuss it with whom the person is if it at all invovles you.
To discuss it furthor only helps the rumor grow.

You can contact me or Combisthebest in regard to such issues anytime, or of course TJ.
I dont want to see a reputation tarnished over something as immature as whispering behind ones back- with anything but concrete evidence.

And I do NOT want this thread going crazy with accusations, and rumor building press.
So if you have anything to add to this- add it calmly, politely and responsibly please.

Default trading circles

I have found that trading circles are Not like real life. In trading circles, a trade goes south or doesn't come to pass and people get mad and make crazy statements or even threats to slice off your head. Some people obsess over trades. All it takes is one person to get mad at you, and then they can stir up a pot. I won't go into the specifics as to who is saying what, because that just fans the flames. Needless to say, I guess someone doesn't like me, and either made an honest mistake and thought something that wasn't true, OR they made up stuff. I don't want to speculate on whether they believed the false statements or they just wanted to cause trouble, I can't speak to their intentions. But, the rumors are wrong, regardless.

Lamont and I have had several trades, as far back as when he first started trading on this board. I've never had a problem. He's honest and very easy to work with. I don't know who is spreading rumors, but they really need to get their facts straight.

Arrow My two cents...

Months after I quit moderating here people would approach me about such-and-such problem and/or so-and-so, thinking I had "pull" of some kind, which I found frustrating since I needed to get OUT for my sanity's sake. Someone probably just thinks that since Lamont's been defended here that he has more influence than the average trader.

I've visited Lamont more often than any other male trader here, at least within recent months, discussing completing specific sets, trades, or whatever. I have never heard him badmouth anyone in the course of our conversations. Lamont has always been extremely kind hearted in his emails to me, as well as from what I've witnessed of him on-line. Sounds like mere rumors to me.

I agree that Lamont is a great trader & has always been honest with me. I've only traded with him 3 or 4 times, but each time, I've been VERY pleased. I also notice he's always the one who's trying to keep disagreements from escalating and he's always respectful to people. He's tops in my book!

It really is a shame that this situation came to being. I have traded with Lamont and conversed on the phone with him on many occasions. On each and every trade and on the phone Lamont has been a gentleman and just a class person. It's a shame some have no lives and must resort to slander and decit to get their jollies.

Shake it off Lamont and get back to trading.

Harvey who is proud to consider you a friend (even thou you are from the South)

Lamont came through for me in a trade big time once and I would STRONGLY recommend doing business with him again. He is first class all the way!

Default I appreciate

All the kind words----now don't get me wrong, just because some people post that I am a good guy, that does NOT make it true---- I am sure that no matter who was in my shoes--- at least SOMEONE would stick up for them. Because even the worst traders have friends. (ha ha)

I honestly wish the person/people with an issue or grudge with me, would email me and work it out... because, I honestly do not have any grudges with anyone on this board or others.... I do not take things personally, we all say things sometimes in the heat of the moment that does not reflect the True Us. We all lose our temper or have misunderstandings and I would like to work this one out direct if possible.

But, I do appreciate people backing me up, and It's good to know that people don't believe the junk being said. So thanks to one and all. There are some great people on this board..... 99% of them are all ok, but you will never find any "perfect" board.....

It's like the old joke, about the perfectionist who went from Club to Club to Club, looking for the Perfect Club..... he finally found it and joined..... and then it wasn't perfect anymore.

I, too, enjoy trading with Lamont. (And yes, I know I owe you an e-mail!) Lamont sent me a note to find out if I still needed something we'd discussed some time ago. I appreciate the thoughtfulness in that gesture. (Lamont, I'll be e-mailing you back in a day or so, I promise!)

What I'm finding in this internet age of trading is that different groups have different definitions of good and bad traders. I've been on a board or two where I'd say the person moderating the board fits my definition of a bad trader (poor to non-existent communication, incredibly slow response - we're talkin' months here, folks - just not good), and where someone others swear is a terrible trader is someone I really enjoy trading with, and feel very comfortable trading with. Diff'rent strokes, after all.

It's just unfortunate that in trading we have a culture where it really is important to alert people to bad traders, but the definition is so slippery. And there are people who seem to feel the need to stir up the pot, or make themselves important by being the bringers of controversy.

There are some traders I have traded once and will never again. Lamont is someone I'd like to trade with again. My two cents, adjusted for inflation ... :>
